Why is Level 1 so dark I set the gamma to 20 and the filtering to none left the sharpness as default. My video card is an ATI Rage 128 with 32mb ram and Direct X 9.0c

Blood Omen 2 is supposed to be dark (it's called BLOOD OMEN!). Just how dark do you mean? A screenshot would help...

You don't need a manual. To take a screen just hit the print screen key during the game, then open MS Paint and go edit>paste>save and then post it here.

OS: XP Blood Omen 2 v1.02 Level 2: Sewers Gamma set at 10 (I can raise it to 20, no difference) Sharpness is default.. Can I set the Gamma manually from say an ini file or something? Quicken2k Last edited by quicken2k; 12-01-2004 at 12:19 PM. |

Does your monitor have an independent brightness setting? I would suggest just making the monitor brighter. The screen shot does look a little dark but when I take screen shots they always look darker than they did in the game. The game is supposed to be dark, though. When you are in the game can you see where you are going, weapons on the ground, doors, enemies, etc.? If you can, then it's probably where it should be.

Unless I walk up to objects and they get highlighted then I can see them. Take the Vampire Relects for example. I can't see they are there till they are highlighted. Is this my game or my moniitor?? Quicken2k |

The picture looks just fine to me. I'd say it's your monitor. Has your screen been repaired after some malfunction? 'Cause sometimes screens loose brightness after that (it's a little thingie inside the case that they forget to ajust).

Not really. I run XP.
game.erg contains values but I do not see gamma ones. it also links to pc.rkv, but trust me. Ya don't wanna open the 200MB file. (Nothing worth editing for gammo anywayz) Do other settings save? Next a small light would help: Whats your brand processor and speed? How much RAM do you have? What is your videocard? BE specific, RAM on card, brand, the works Thats usually the 3 big things on looks. |

That should be enought. Yet a Ati Rage is a old card, update its drivers?
Further, if it won't save, and keys do, and you have the latest drivers, you might wanna reďnstall? |

as I always say, if its a polular card and unsupported someone is bound to hax a few drivers for it.
Example are the voodoo cards. 0 support but alot of ppl edited the drivers to be compatible with this or that. I ahd a old voodoo card once and I was very pleased with the haxed versions of the drivers. hax should not be taken as in bad though, its just a edit of the drivers to be compatible.

One rather easy way of fixing this could be adjusting WinXP's gamma ramp. It's a little doohickey found in the display properties...
Good luck anyhow!
