Thumbs up A Fairly Cool 'n' Awesome Neato Trick-like Thang (Uh, spoilers?)

So then. I finally made this thread after all these years... um... months... whatever. Yeah, months would probably sound better.

As you can deduce from the title, this thread promises to hold a fairly neat or hardly impressive discovery under the creamy milk chocolate.

But! But, but, but. There's always the but.
Namely, the thing is that I discovered this trick a very, very long time ago and although I thought of letting you folks know of it the second I found it (I took screenshots and baked you a banana cake and everything), alas, I came to make this thread only now due to my recent absence and the lack of having a host to, um, host my screenshots.
And it is very likely that many of you, if not all, have already found this trick and I'm just making a foo' out of myself (Mr. T rocks). In addition, I have no idea of what key word to use for this if I were to search it up.

But anywho, since I have been away for so long and I'd really like to talk to you folks again, even if I'm just poking at an old thang, here goes. Without the screenshots... and the banana cake. Because I still aint got no host... and I got hungry. Okay, I never baked the thing in the first place. Sorry. I know how to boil water. And make a sandwich... eventually.

So then... um... what was I talking about again? Oh right! The trick.

So far, this trick only seems to work with Kain. If you begin to utilize this trick with him and explore the game with this cheat, you will begin to understand, as I did, that it would be so cool if Raziel could do it, too. You'll see.

Anywho, this trick thus involves Kain, a door (in some cases a barred gate, too) and the FPV (first person view) button.
As Kain, stand in front of a door... no, wait... run towards the door. Just keep running. I know it won't get you anywhere, just like walking on a treadmill. Just keep doing it. Hehe! Lookit Kain go! Khm, anyway, when you have done looking at Kain trying to shove himself through the door, it's trickin' time!
First, it is important to stress that when Kain is doing an action, the FPV button cannot be used.
While holding down the arrow button to run, quickly hit the FPV button and release the arrow button. Repeat smashing the FPV button if necessary. Try this more than once. It works, alright.
Ah, wait. Sorry. Forgot to mention that I discovered it on the European PAL PC version. So yeah. You other guys can then comment if it works on the other versions. Okay? Good.
So anyway, if all goes well, Kain should re-emerge on the other side of the door, without actually opening it (and as you can imagine this will be so much cooler with doors that aren't supposed to be opened). Can't get at it? Don't worry, after all the time of knowing this, it still takes some tries when doing it myself. Just run towards the door, at an instant stop running and at the same moment press the FPV button. It is bound to work.

-sigh-

This thread would've been so much cooler with the screenshots. And the banana cake.

I'll just try to describe some of the uses of this trick then.
For Kain, the most rewarding place to utilize this is in the Vampire Citadel.
In Chapter 7, when Kain first gets to the Vampire Citadel and starts searching for the Lightning Fragment of the Balance Emblem, don't stop there!
If you can find the right door (as we know, Kain has two chapters solely in the Vampire Citadel, four if we count the 13th and 15th, but that's another story), you can basically acquire the Time Fragment for your Blood Reaver as well and then go back to the Pillars or the Sarafan Stronghold and try it out on some of the adversaries there (if you left any). The bridge fight should get a lot more cooler which certainly is something, because it is one of my personal favourite battle scenarios of the whole game.
And, in addition, you can see the Oracle already in Chapter 7, without getting the Lightning or the Time Fragments. The cut scene will feature a closed door and you can also trick through the Oroborous door, too. In the past (that is, 500 years before the events of BO-LOK), you will simply fall through the floor.
And in the future (that is, during the events of BO-LOK), you are stopped by that depression in the hallway to the Spirit Forge. One cannot get passed it, I'm afraid.
But if you use the wireframe code, you can see the hallway stretching further beyond the wall of rubble.
In addition, as we know, when Raziel ventures through that hallway, he encounters water in that depression. But Kain doesn't. Strange, because bubbles are still coming out from the rubble.
It once also occurred that when I went to the future, the image of Raziel overlooking the city of Avernus in flames still remained on the pool.
But if you try to utilize Bat Form to fly towards Avernus, you'll simply turn invisible.
You can also explore beyond the barred gates with the Turelish faces on them, before one is supposed to. There are two of them, as we know, and both lead to a chasm with a tower on the other side. And both of those towers have the Warp Gates on them, right? Well, I thought it would be cool to trick into using them in the future when one is not supposed to, but, alas, they are reduced into rubble in 500 years.

And before the 'grand finale', we turn over to Raziel.
Sadly, Raziel can't do this trick. I figured it must've got something to do with his manner of running. Or something. Or Elvis Presley did it.
Imagine what Raziel could do if he knew how! You could easily go and venture into the crypts of the original Vampire Pillar Guardians. Judging from Mortanius and Ariel and the Elder's voice appearing in the Spectral Realm, I'd imagine that the cut scenes would still initiate if Raziel entered the tombs in the Material Realm and we could see how the Vampire Guardians would look in the world of the living (nothing overly magnificent, though, as Mortanius and Ariel only looked cool in Spectral, you didn't win a million bucks or anything).
Something just occurred to me - I think I haven't tried trickin' through the doorway leading to Turel's pit. We should. Spectral and Material alike.

Okay, back to Kain. Is anyone still reading this?
In that case, I am flattered. Thank yous.

Back to Kain... I'm falling asleep... back to Kain!

In the final chapters (Chapter 13 and Chapter 15), you can also use the trick. Once you have gotten the Soul Reaver in Chapter 15, simply trick yourself through the door leading into the Spirit Forge and go out and have some fun with the new big knife. This was what I thought at first place, too. Sadly, the Soul Reaver is incredibly and unbelievably weak, as commented by Ardeth Silvereni and other gamers. It won't even smack the snot out of Shades for cryin' out loud! I was desperately trying to build up the Reaver Charge and release the Reaver Spell, but it's hard enough to stay alive with that thing.
Then you can go on and try to fly to Avernus again and be turned invisible, again. And then fight the Elder. He still sees you, don't get your hopes up.
But perhaps this will add that certain spice to the ones who found the battle royale too easy. Try fighting when you can't see yourself, but your enemy can.

Hoo boy. Please form a line to my left so I could give you medals of honour made out of cookie dough for reading this all. Thank yous, again!

And if it happened that you folks weren't aware of this trick, go on and have fun and enjoy!

- That Matt

If Raz can't do it, he just needs training. (Hehehe...)

Question

Sooo... ummm... was this something new or not?

You aren't still sore about that banana cake... ? Or, rather, the lack of it.

C'mon, people! Interact! Me wants to know, my precious.
