Default Skilled blocking:

For those who claim the BO2 combat is boring:Try to use skilled blocking!

On the box it says:"Combat with dance-like precision"If you master skilled block, this feels actually true.

Every hit you take is your own mistake and if you beat a difficult enemy like this you feel a lot more like Kain:The upcoming god-emperor of Nosgoth

I once beat the game without deaths using this mode.I still try to repeat this.

I've tried it with skilled blocking but I don't have my manual and so I can never defend. Wich keys do you use?

If it's PC, go to options and configure the keys. If it's a console, isn't there a screen that shows the button mappings? (All of the console game demos in the store have a button-mapping screen). As for the actual gameplay, for skilled blocking you use the same key as you did for assisted blocking. The difference is that with assisted blocking you hold the key down. With skilled blocking you tap it quickly right before you want to block. You have to tap it each time you want to block, too. If you get good enough with skilled blocking you will find that not having to hold down the block key really lets you move around and is actually easier in the long run.

Thanx I had already figured out (after i posted my reply I went to mess around with the game and try to learn). It's a little dificult in the beggining but makes the game more realistic.

LOL I can barely get Kain to block when using assisted blocking. That and he doesn't dodge when I tell him.

Exactly. Assisted blocking is a trade-off. To use it you have to hold down block which means you can't dodge. With the skilled blocking, you tap it to block each individual hit so you can dodge between blocks.

sure you can. if you're quick enough.. it's really all timing. the enemy AI isnt the sharpest and quite predictable IMO. i'm pretty sure it's easier on my PS2 than your CPU? in that case you may be correct.

At least if I'm remembering correctly, while you are holding down the block key to use the assisted blocking you are anchored in place. You have to stop blocking in order to move.

you are correct. what i meant to say is that i can "auto block" - release - and dodge at the last second... sorry bout that.

No problem . Personally I find it easier to just use the skilled blocking but the autoblocking definitely has its charms when I can get it to work the way you were describing
