Default Just installed - problem

Just installed Deadly Shadows, I have laptop, yes I know laptops arn't supported, but I have everything that is required spec wise.
ATI RADEON 9000 which is supported
Windows XP
PENTIUM 4, 2.8 GHZ
128 MB GRAPHICS
1GB RAM
The game installs perfectly, seems to run with no problem until I get to the Title Menu screen, then the pointer refuses to move either with mouse or touch pad. The graphics appear to be fine.
Does anyone have an explanation and cure for this, I could understand if graphics were not working, but the pointer just doesn't seem to make any sense.

Hoping someone out there can come to my aid
Many thanks
Alan

Hi, I had the same problem as you with roughly the same computer spec. I found that it was a problem with my ATI drivers not being up to date. If you go to ATI's website and download the new catalyst (think that's what they're called) drivers and download them it should resolve the problem. At least it did for me. Hope this helps !

On inserting the Deadly Shadows CD I am given the option of a Graphic card check, this is telling me my Radeon driver 6.13.10.6218 is out of date and I need 6.14.10.6436 and to download it. This I have done, but on coming to install the new driver I get a message headed: Severe, and reading INF error Video driver not found. When I OK this I get another message reading: Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before funning setup. I even downloaded the original driver to see what happened, and I got exactly the same messages.

Do you know what this means, why I get this message and what I can do to install the new driver?

Many thanks
Alan

I know that a VGA port is the port on your motherboard that you use for connecting your monitor. I'm not sure about the Radeon 9000, but my monitor goes into a port on my 9800. Maybe this has something to do with it but I'm not exactly sure. Anyway good luck with getting it to work.
