I saw The Datsuns in January. They were good and loud. Highly recommended if you ever get the chance.

The last concert I went to was about a month ago, Walter Trout at the Blue Cafe in Long Beach. He tore it up as usual - I have a blues buddy in Portland who first turned me on to Trout, so I called his number during "The Reason I'm Gone" and just held the phone up in the line of fire for about five minutes. I hadn't known, but he later told me that that happens to be his favorite Trout tune. Kewl.

I tried to get tix for Rush at Hollywood Bowl on the second leg of the Snakes & Arrows tour but even though I was on a fan-club-only early ticket sale and was sitting there with fingers on keyboard at precisely the 10 am start time, I still got shut out of usable seats, so I just bagged it...

HO-ly - talk about coincidence: I just now got a call from an old friend (a different one,) who did exactly the same thing! Trouble is, the sound was so garbled I have no idea whose concert he's at. I called back and it still sounds like the "grownups" in Peanuts cartoons. 'Guess he'll have to fill me in tomorrow.

Anyhow, I caught Rush at HB last year from the second row - the first time I've been in front for Rush since 1982. It would've been nice to go again, but I don't really care to see them twice on the same tour anyhow. Face-saving, yadayada.

On my wish list are my two fave Japanese punker/alt/weirdness bands, eX-Girl and Tommy Heavenly6 (aka Kawase Tomoko,) but no word on tours. eX-Girl played literally a couple miles from here a couple years ago but I didn't find out about it 'til a month or so after the fact. That was...a bad month. Sooner or later though, 'cause Keikos rocks - she plays like Michael Schenker's kid sister.

So, I'm going to see Lady Gaga on September 4th and Roger Waters (doing songs from The Wall) on October 24th.

Anyone see (or going to see) any shows?

I saw Korpiklaani when I was living in Seattle a while back. This spring back in Minnesota I saw Flogging Molly. Aside from that, no big name bands, just local stuff now and then.

This is a video I shot a couple weeks ago at a Scorps concert - an excerpt of "The Zoo" with Matthias' talk box jam. My camera's video is ten times better than its audio, unfortunately...

Rush played at Universal City tonight but I don't want to go to yet another "retrospective" concert - which for me would've been the third in a row from them. I'm waiting for next year's leg, when they'll have the new album out and will be touring full-bore in support of it, rather than just debuting two songs from it.

Saw LM.C in May at Fanime-Con...
I'm a little jealous...my friend was in Japan for a few weeks this summer and she got to see the GazettE two days in a row a few days before she came back and they were pretty amazing she said.

I want to see Damian Marley on Monday but I'm not shelling out 42 clams for a reggae show. For that price they better be forking out grass* at the door

* For the record, I'm not into that. I just thought it was a funny sentiment

Howdy all!. Been a while since I've visited here.

Haven't been to anything major in quite some time. Been to a few freinds' shows though.
Did a little jammin with some of them myself a while back....
That's me in the hat..

Joe Bouchard on guitar (BOC)
Albert Bouchard on Drums and vocals (BOC)
Andy Hilfiger (Tommy's brother) on Bass, sitting in for a few tunes
for regular Blue Coupe bassist Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper Group)
and me, sitting in for this tune.

And, oh yeah, we had a tornado in Brooklyn this past Thursday!

Cool

On October 23, 2009 my boyfriend and I went to see U2 in Las Vegas. U2 is my ultimate favorite band. The Black-Eyed Peas opened for them. AWESOME show! I'd love to go see them again...they'll be in my area this summer. (I think this is the "make up" show for the one they had to cancel last fall for Bono's back surgery.)

Last summer I got to see David Crowder Band, Chris August and Phil Keaggy. All really good. I want to see Third Day and Newsboys.

@KasigiYabuSama:
LOVE the Scorpions!

@mwkcope and Umah Bloodomen:
I wanted to go see the Star Wars concert...but missed it. Yes, I say it counts! LOVE Star Wars!

They are. LOL. I guess this is the BIG reunion!

My brother said he met Dave Mustang of Megadeth at an airport in Phoenix. LOL. Then he fell asleep on his left arm and got paralysis. They said he'd never play guitar again but he says he did and'll be better than before now!

Went to a local band Blues Festival last week, which was awesome. I'm one of those "Support your local music scene!" people, so I always get a kick out of when local bands get together and put on their own day long festivals. And I'm a sucker for the blues, so that helped as well. Not many bands really go anywhere from where I live, with a few exceptions, so I'm always really happy when said festivals draw big crowds, which this one did despite it being on a holiday weekend. Anyone ever interested in a great blues band that puts on one hell of a show, check out Levee Town. Nice blend of blues, bit of aggressive rock, and plenty of soul. Very tight unit as well. Trampled Under Foot are quite good as well, and have actually toured internationaly over the last few years. Nice people as well, both bands.

Going to check out a country band from Australia tonight called The McClements. Spent a couple of years living in Australia years ago and loved it, so I'm excited that an act from there is actually coming here to America and getting some expossure. I've never heard them, or of them before for that matter, so I'm looking forward to either A) finding a new band to listen to, or B) finding a new band that gives me an excuse to have a few pints at the refreshment tent because I need to drown out the sounds. Looking forward to it tho.
