Default Concerts, anyone?

I was just wondering if anyone here went to any concerts this summer or is going to one in the near future?

I saw the Suicide Machines in June---they were great and I got to talk to the guitarist!

Last Friday I saw Less than Jake---they were amazing!! They are one of my favorite bands and it was my second time seeing them!

Anyone else??

My friend got VIP tickets to Aerosmith...sadly I wasn't invited to go with him.

I did see Bruce Springsteen not too long ago, that was cool.

TLF was *dying* to go to a Rammstein concert when they came to the UK in March, but couldn't.

And damnit, that's the band that play with fire onstage!!

Thumbs up

I've seen Rammstein twice (the last time was in July of last year...they haven't returned yet this year). They are amazing.

I even got to chill with them after the show for like 3 hours. It was really cool.

Even if you don't like the music, I recommend the show. It's really something.

(BTW...loved their 5 minutes in xXx).

EDIT I am currently trying to score tix to Tool on the 26th in Detroit. And I worked at an Aerosmith show and they rock!

**continues to pray that Rammstein returns this year***

**cries** Nothing like hurting one's feelings....

It probably wouldn't change your mind to mention that I also got their autographs would it?

I thought they were currently on their European word tour now? (At least they were when I last checked their site).

First time I saw them, they were at Family Values (which is the only reason I went to that show was to see them). The second time they were headlining on the Mutter tour.

I hope you get a chance to see them the next time they head around your area TLF. They are absolutely well worth the wait and never disappoint.

Oops, sorry, didn't mean that. TLF is just insanely jealous, that's all...

TLF would only be able to go to any concert if it's in Ireland. She seriously doubts her parents would take her to England to see a show they would probably dissaprove of (TLF has heard things about Till and Flake during Buch Dich... are they true, btw?), and the rest of Europe is definitely out of the question.

*sigh*

She'll just have to faithfully wait...

Yes those rumors are true. Although they did it during the Family Values tour and did not do it during the Mutter tour. It was very humorous. (Kinky too but we don't need to go there ) I recommend getting the Live Aus Berlin video if you don't already have it. (Very cool show) They stick mainly to fire and of course Till with his self-whipping exploits. I love the mohawk he decided to go with.

Default Concert? Me?

I've never been to a concert in my life! *cries*

I'm hoping that Bryan White comes to WI, or someplace close, soon...
As far as country and bluegrass singers, I also would like to see Faith Hill, Steve Wariner, Martina McBride, Nickel Creek and a few others in concert...and I'd like to see the Corrs, but I doubt they'll be coming to Wisconsin anytime soon. I like some other pop music, but wouldn't go to the bands'/singers' concerts, because my Mom would probably freak out (at me), the audience would freak out (at the performers (in the form of worship, I mean)), and I'd lose most of, if not all, my hearing, between the two.

Never seen Rammstein but I'd like to. I saw Aerosmith last Dec. That was a great show, I'd seen them along with my friend at a concert in TX before and this show was infinately better. They kicked ass both shows tho, of course.

"Always search before starting a new thread" good advice - well heeded!

The Brain Surgeons
Went and saw them last Monday in Brooklyn.
Albert Bouchard on drums (formerly of Blue Oyster Cult and Joe's brother), Deborah Frost on guitar (Albert's wife), David Hirschberg on bass and Ross the Boss (Dictators and Manowar) on guitar.
They smoked and blistered their way through their set with amazing rock and roll fun and metal!
Ross plays straight through to his amp - no fx boxes of any kind. They played a brilliant hour and a half show, closing out the night with a few old BOC tunes, with Albert donning his famous Godzilla mask!

There it is - red with yellow tape the cowbell!

amazing, heavy and smooth...

Deb rocks!

Ross is the boss!

CONCERTS IN SUMMERS?!

Must be mad in this HEAT!!! We usually have concerts of our local bands around here, but still I would say someone mad who puts a step out of his house... and it's only APRIL!!! On Monday it was 37.2 degrees, and believe me, to make matters worse, the lights of my office went out. I was toasted ALIVE!!!

You guys haven't lived until you've seen Thousand Foot Krutch/FM Static or Toby Mac in concert.

The only concert I wanted to see was Matisyahu about a month ago, but sadly I was informed of it far too late and it was sold out by then.

Ouch! The only bands/singers I recognize you all talking about is Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen and everyone in THEthief's post!

Deek...nice pics!

I almost got to see U2 last November. They were going to be in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand the weekend I thought we were going to be there. Then my s-i-l burst my bubble by reminding me that we were going to be in Reno that weekend instead. Unfortunate, hm? I was depressed for hours after that. *cries again at the missed opportunity*

I wouldn't mind seeing the Corrs. Especially if Bono was there singing Summer Wine with Andrea.

I finally ended up getting to see TOOL on September 22nd here in Detroit. (I've only been waiting fifteen years to do so). Great show. I was a tad disappointed in their decision not to play anything off Undertow, but it was still a great show!

I unfortunately missed out on KMFDM again but I am going to see Mushroomhead on October 27th, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers on November 2nd and Atreyu on November 3rd. I saw RHCP back in '95 and they put on a good show. I'm hoping that's still the case.

lol, actually, I listen to Boston. Im only 27, but still, I know good bands when I hear them. Besides, growin up, I didn't have much choice when my father had his records playing lol, kinda grew on me. Along with BTO, Bob Seger. Though.. I never could get into ABBA. 0o, never! lol

Anyhow, I listen to pretty much everything from oldies, southern rock, to techno, trance, alternative, metal, lol. If it sounds good.. crank it! Even listen to Rammstein :P

Love chili peppers! Fav song from Boston is Peace of Mind

I didn't go to any shows this summer, unfortunately. Godsmack is coming to Dayton in a few weeks and I'd love to go, but I probably won't make that either. One band I'm hoping to catch in the near future is Aarson. The lead singer is a friend of mine who works weekends with me. (The site lists his name as Daav Synz - stage name - his real name is Dave Young). They're in the final stages of mastering their next album.

The last concert I went to was Pearl Jam in 1998 but we're seeing them again next month.

Tickets went on sale last month for my favourite band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers for their concert next year and I missed out, they completely sold out!
