Default Lockpicking Bug

Hi - First of all let me say how great Thief: Deadly Shadows is, I've enjoyed every moment of it and it's a worthy addition to an amazing series!

I finished it for the first time a few days ago, without encountering any bugs or problems. I've just upgraded my GFX card from a Geforce 3 to the 6800 GT and when I went to try Thief 3 with the details turned up for once, all of a sudden the lockpicking has stopped working.

When you move the mouse to find the sweet spots, a fraction of a second later the pick resets itself to the centre of the display, preventing me from opening the lock. I've loaded up multiple levels trying it on various locks, and the same thing happens.

I've reinstalled and tried without the patch, but to no avail. The only change to my system since I finished the game was the change in GFX card, but I don't see how that could affect such a game feature. Can any one help????

Thanks in advance!

I had the same trouble. In my case was solution was to unplug my joystick that was in the forward position. Might not help in this case, but you never know.

Ahhh, I hadn't considered that.
It's working now - although I'm playing through Thief 1 & 2 again before I return to Deadly Shadows.

Thanks!
