VERY loud humming sound when looking at lights?

Ok, bought the game, installed it.. loaded it up and right at training I get these unbelievably loud humming sounds when I move the mouse in certain direction and it fades out as I move almost like it's the sound of a humming light but amplified by 100 !!! (edit: to clarify, when I mose the mouse so that I'm looking at a light it starts and when I look away from a light it stops)

I've tried disabling eax and lowing voices but nothing helps. This game is unplayable in this state and any help would be appreciated.

all with current drivers

Also, the game is patched to 1.74

an official response would be nice here seeing that I bought this game for 50 bucks and can't play it

Hýmm.. It only happaned to me at the room in the very beginning of the game. The room with lots of smoke and Prof. Ortmayer I mean.
