Default This is a great Game!

Hi all

Just wanted to post my opinions about thief 3.

As a die hard Theif player (playing since Dark Project), I actually like this game alot. It has alot more depth and ways around things than the 1st and 2nd game.

Fair enough, its not Neverwinter nights or Morrowind but I think Ion Storm have really tried. I can understand the complaints and i think because of the tonning down of DX2 for console, then everyone kinda waited with baited breath.

Since many of the recent games like Morrowind and DX1 have allowed developers to implement freedom of movement in a masive environment we've seen some really good software coming out. Look at Hitman Contracts to the original codename 47, completing missions how and when you like.

But a game isnt reality, there are boundries and limitations even in (MMORPGs) and developers can only put in so much, Yes its a pain when a bug comes up, which is usually due to untidy coding and compiling, but because of the work that goes into these games, its easy to jump on the ban wagon because the developers cant include everybodies wants and desires or the game would never come out.

Thief 3 is a great piece of code, its fresh, fast and big (i believe it takes about 20 - 30 hrs to complete), and yes apart from the bug which is a pain, its great. I feel sorry for the XBOX owners as MS will not allow their LIVE service to be used for patching, but that may change.

Would i be right in believeing that some of Ion Storms old coders were from Looking Glass. Ive downloaded Andrews Temp fix and its fantastic, may even turn out to be better than Storms fix, coz its fully adjustable.

Its so very easy to slagg something that someone else has created because it doesnt meet your expectations, I know its £30 ($50) of yr cash but, I would just take it back if i hated it that much to flame itopenly on a forum, but i do agree with airing your opinions as thats what gets things done, but I think Ion Storm have made a cracker of a game here and once they sort the AI out, itll be well sorted, Just hope Thief 4 has Multuplayer support.

Would be interested to hear others' opinions on this

Cheers
M

I agree. I'm only on the second mission, and I'm totally hooked. IS should be put in jail for stealing my free time with this game.
