Garry Oldman was in the 5th Element and Prisoner of Azkaban, just so you know

Anyways, none of them. I think Hugh Jackman might make a good Garrett.

Good suggestion, I could picture Hugh Jackman but I also wouldn't be able to get the image of Wolverine out of my head. I was joking about Gary Oldman, it just takes that extra couple of seconds to remember what films he's been in.

Thumbs up

Hugh Jackman. The only person I think could pull it off. He has the right face, voice and acting ability. DING!

Just my $0.02

Orlando Bloom would be the best. He's tall, dark and handsome, just like Garrett....

I don't see an actor for the voice !! And i say that the movie should be done like Final Fantasy : The ... It has great graphics and a Thief Movie could be maked that way !!!

Motives : Is cheap and its GOOD looking !! That way we'll have The Garrett we want, the voice, the funny replyes added by him, etc

I'm sorry I just couldn't picture girly Orlando Bloom playing a real man!

I met him a year and a half ago at the Premier for The Two Towers in London and he's smaller than you think. I'm 6ft2, he was no more than 5ft10. Forgetting height, I just don't think he would cut it as Garrett. Hugh Jackman on the other hand could pull it off.

I don't think ANY big actor could play Garrett. IMO they should find a relative unknown who looks like him and can do the voice _ OR go the CGI way which has been mentioned...

Also I don't think Garrett should be played by what people would call a handsome man, because face it, he should look worn out, have a tired face, wear tattered clothes. Because he would want to be anonymous, can blend into the background. I've read a thread where someone complained about Garretts apartment in Deadly Shadows should be rich, full of expensive stuff, extravagant. I think that whole idea is wrong, he wouldnt want to draw attention to himself, he would want to live with common people to make people think he is one of them, and not to reveal what he really does. Living in a big plush apartment would raise questions to what he does, even the Keepers who he is a part of in some way, are hidden, not in view. I think Garrett would be the same.

How could you not include Clive Owen in the list? He has the voice, he has the look--just check out his headshot on IMDB. Clive Owen is the perfect choice to play Garrett.

Maybe people should look for someone less noticable. in my opinion Rufus Sewell would make the best garret. hell he may not be as handsom as most people would like the role, but if you listen to the guy talk he sounds just like garret and he has that mysterious quality. i think clive owen might be a pretty good idea if ever their were a movie (wouldn't that be cool).

Yeah, i agree, Rufus Sewell (Dark City) would be a good choice for the movie, he has a misterious look, and has a cool voice, but not as good as Hugh Jackman who, besides the voice, has the right face for playing Garret. Both have the carisma needed but i think Jackman would be better.
Gary Oldman is a very good actor who made the acting of his life
in Bram StokerŽs Dracula, but i think it would be a wrong choice for this movie.

Gary Oldman would be brilliant!!!

Er, if he's unavailable, I've got it: Sean Penn!

Tom Cruise, maybe. I'm drawin' a blank, but after Van Helsing, I don't think it should be Hugh Jackman.

Default A Scruffy Colin Farrell

I have always thought that Colin Farrell with a few days' beard growth fit my mental picture of Garrett. He also can do a sly, raspy voice with an attitude, which would of course be necessary. He's a little younger than we think our Garrett is, but he'd be a great lead if it were a major film.

Gary Oldman is my second choice.

I think either Bruce Campbell or Hugh Jackman would be good picks. I definately picture Garrett with a dark, sarcastic sense of humor.

gary oldman could do it....so could hugh jackman. I also liked the idea for norton.... I'd have to say gary oldman or hugh would be my top pics. gary oldman has been in a LOT of different movies. He's a very versitile actor. He has more panache than jackman but jackman has that obnoxious/cocky trait that garret has.

Certainly the best choice so far. I was thinking of Jonathan Rhys-Meyers or Cillian Murphy.

A bit old perhaps but maybe Willem Dafoe isn't such a bad choice.
