Key in Rutherford Vault opens...?

I'm in Australia and we don't have Thief: Deadly Shadows available yet, but I did download the demo.

Naturally I've played through it many, many times and it's driving me nuts not being able to continue through the game. I'm quite curious. I'm trying to be patient, though.


Just in case, below are minor spoilers for the second mission (the first after training) of the game.

In the meantime, there are three keys during the second mission End of the Bloodline. The key you 'find' in the Rutherford Family Vault has me stumped. What the frilly heck does it open?

I'm convinced I've tried every door in the castle. I thought the keys would each open a door with a four-level-lock. So I thought it'd be the third four-level lock (the door to the room with a chest and crate past the non-combatant at the top of the stairs in the Castle Front area).

It didn't open when I had the key. I tried every other locked object (at least I think I did) and nothing opens by holding the key. Either it's a glitch or I've missed one.

Being an exceptional thief, Garrett hardly needs the key and it's hardly a dire predicament that I'm in, but it's bugging me.

It now occurs to me that perhaps it's for a later mission, though I sincerely doubt it. If that's the case then stating so will be sufficient. I request no spoilers for after this mission, please.

What does the key open?

TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, THESE KEYS DO NOT DO A THING THAT GARRETT EITHER CANNOT DO HIMSELF OR HAS ALREADY DONE BEFORE GETTING THE KEYS. DONT LET IT WORRY YOU MATE....I STILL AM CARRYING THE DARN THINGS IN MY INVENTORY AND THEY ARE USELESS. BESIDES, GARRETT IS A MASTER THIEF AND DOESNT NEED THE BLOODY THINGS ANYWAY.
