Default Is it worth $7?

I've always been a big TR fan, and I really looked forward to AOD. But, almost as soon as it was released, the bad reviews started pouring in, so I hesitated and decided not to buy the game until the price dropped. Now, all this time later, I found a copy for $5.50 (making it about $7 with tax) Is it worth it? I mean, how bad is it really? Will it at least give me at least $7 worth of enjoyment?

Also, I'd be running it on a P4 1.8 ghz system with 256 Megs of RAM, and a 64 megabyte graphics card. I realize this is hardly cutting edge anymore, so I'm wondering if the game will even work on it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, if you're a really big TR fan, then you probably won't be too disappointed. You might as well enjoy it, who knows. It's not like you're about to spend a fortune on the game.

I liked it much more than I expected, even though it was terribly slow on my computer then. It should work just fine on your system. Mine is currently 1.47 Ghz, 256 MB of RAM, a 64 MB graphic card and I have no problems with the game (except that I can't play it at the highest resolution, of course).

Cool

YES!!!! of course it's worth it, get them Release the Tomb Raider source code Eidos pennies out and go buy it right now!! opening hours permitting.

Anyone who says there's such a thing as a Release the Tomb Raider source code Eidos bad Tomb Raider game, isn't a fan, and even if you Release the Tomb Raider source code Eidos were not a fan, it's a classic and should be owned by everyone.

Look at me, I bought Release the Tomb Raider source code Eidos both almost lousy, IMHO, Tomb Raider movies, and i'll probably buy the box set as well, why? cos Tomb Raider with any bit missing, ain't Tomb Raider.

Subliminalist?........ Me?

Well, that's not really the best way to do things, is it? I prefer to read reviews first, they've saved me a LOT of money over the years. Of course, for $7, I guess it's negligable. Okay, I'll splurge and buy the stupid thing... and I'll go into it with the expectation that it will be an infuriating experience. That way. if I get any sort of enjoyment out of it whatsoever, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

On a side note-- Has anyone here played Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon? That was a great game, and it was almost like Tomb Raider in some parts, but it was actually better because it had dialogues, a great story, two playable characters, and a great orchestral score. If you haven't tried it, you really should.

I know,but what I meant was that like most mags and sites I read the reviews from,they always find and bag every little detail that makes u sick,and sometimes believe them (I've gone through that once,NEVER again! ),so it's your choise who to believe who don't;
1)Some critics ! who r sooooo in luv with Sands of Time and Pandora Tomorrow (nicely done BTW ) OR
2)Fans and honest gamers who played the game since beggining and can forgive few things here n' there

When it was STILL the new game it costed ,what, about $50 right,6months later it's half price BONANZA,in some coutries it STILL is 50bucks or stays 50%off so I was like appalled when I saw that u cab get it for $7 bucks.I say BUY IT,cos it's a friggin bargain !

And yes,I plan to buy Broken Sword,I saw some really niiiiicee and beutifull screenshots on this one site

I paid $50 for TRAOD the day it came out, and I'm still satisfied with the purchase. It worked fine on my first computer for the first few levels, but then the bug that "crashed the game when Lara moved an angle" came... However, everything ran smoothly on my laptop (no problems, except for a little lag in Paris).

I've played some really good, plot-rich games (like FFX and the Silent Hill series) and I still prefer playing TR. It has a gritty plot that doesn't sound/look as if it was forced. It's worth playing through all of the annoyances since the plot is interesting. Unfortunately, they didn't elaborate on what happened in the past, and the ending was a little disappointing since it was short.

What a tragedy - that anyone would question or postpone a desired game purchase on the basis of the reviewers. Here's a little something on that subject:http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=16718
If game magazines were printed on soft, absorbent, scented paper, they might be good for something.

TRAOD might had a lot of bugs the season it was realised but now there must be a lot patches that fix most of them... It's a nice decent game that may run perfectly in your computer if you choose "fastest" performane from the video options of the game and believe me, there is no significant difference from the higher quality performances... Now about the price i bought this game when it was released (48 E) and i haven't regretted buying it so i think that 7$ is a bargain...
