Default In a tight spot...need help

Alright, so I'm to do the clocktower mission next. After selling all my loot, and purchasing gear I used up on the previous missions, I head over to the clocktower only to find the entrance to be high up on the wall and it looks like I need the wall-climbing gloves to get up there, only I didn't buy them, and I had about 75 cash on me. So I've been running around the different districts looting every NPC, house and building to work up the cash. Gloves cost 2000, I have a little over 1200.

I still have the docks left to scrounge up some cash, but I think I'm going to fall short. But maybe I'm missing the point. Perhaps there's another way up there. Or a spot that has some cash I missed? Any ideas? Help?

thanks!

That's a drag, although I suspect that if you replayed the mission once before entering the Keeper library (either the Pagans/Jacknall's paw or the Hammerite/St Edgar's) and made a point of acquiring more loot, you'd probably have more cash to spend now.

Maybe a moot point now, though. If you wander around between the different city levels, and pickpocket folks going by, you ought to be getting 300 gold or so per city zone. Also:

Hmm, that is a tight spot. I saved up money from the beginning, and was able to buy the gloves as soon as I could get to the zone where they're sold. As an idea, try to see if you stumble across any side quests. I've read on here that the guy pays off for the golden dagger every day, so you might be able to get a little cash there. There's some loot scattered around the Forbidden Library. You can't even be SEEN in there or you get a failure message, but I think if you can steal it without being caught you're ok. Failing that working, it's time for Adventures in Box Stacking (tm). I wish you luck. You don't have to get all the way up to the pipe. You'd just have to get to where you can jump and activate the glyph.

Okay, good points, but...

Taking out NPCs and having them respawn may work, although I didn't think the city respawned until after a mission is completed. I'll test that out tonight though.

Otherwise stacking crates may be my only recourse, if there are enough to get me that high. Or hope I can get enough cash in the docks. Are there any side missions in the docks, btw?

Okay, so I finally got the money I needed after going around to the different districts. NPC loot does seem to respawn. Also I was able to revisit the forbidden library area, and although all NPCs had left, save for the wandering guards, a small amount of loot respawned in there too. It took me awhile, but I was able to buy the gloves and now I'm half-way though the clocktower. Which is a very nice level.
