Default Map-Maker!

Im new to timesplitters (never played the first because i dont own PS2) But this map maker sounds awsome. If anyone could give me the low down on things you can do with the map maker and how flexible it actually is that would be great. Also post any maps you plan on creating with the map maker! personaly I would love to make a recreation of D-day and create an Omaha Beach map (but i still dont know how flexible this map maker is and based on the first timesplitters for PS2 it sounds like you can only make indoor maps, unless they improve it so you can make outdoor levels for the second timesplitters. who knows...)

Default mapmaker

If you want a recreation of D-Day then go rent or buy Medal of Honor. The map maker for ts2 will be amazing...but you wont be able to recreate d-day. First off, you can create doors, and you can make it so that the doors dont unlock without a key (switch). There are more floor tiles, and you can make bigger levels than you could in ts1. You can also create paths for the bots to walk-in, so they just dont run around like idiots (meaning you can create a soldier to guard a particular doorway, etc.

According to the web site you'll be able to create single player "story" maps as well as death match maps which is a MAJOR improvement! I'm sure there will be web sites set up for trading of single player missions and then the game will never loose its replay value.
I can't wait!

Lightbulb D-day

yea, i guess most likly it wont be possible to make d-day, i do have medal of honor but think how cool it would be to play Omaha Beach multiplayer with a couple of friends... well i was kinda guessing it wouldnt be THAT advanced. But sure enough im gonna make some freakin good maps with that thing. I take my time and im an extreme perfectionist so you could bet that my maps will be top notch in everyway. If only I knew how to create a website i could make some kind of way to post my maps so other people could create them on there own... i would have to creat somekind of scale though so they know what to put down and all...

I personally cant wait to get my grubby little hands on this level editor. I reckon I'll spend more time creating One Player Missions than I will trying to beat the actual game. Also, it would be the tightest thing ever if we could swap levels online....finally I can show some peeps my awesome multiplayer maps....

Thumbs up map making stuff...

right on man (except the part about swabing your levels online because im getting it for gamecube which doesn't have that feature ) I also just got the original Timesplitters (yep, even though i dont even have PS2) But comon, who can walk by an awsome game for only $18 bucks (which ws the price i got it at the Price Club, also known as Cosco, or something....) So now I can bring this game to my friend that has PS2 and play it their until Timesplitters 2 for Gamecube arrives.

Question map-making

Does anyone know about any electronic stuff you can make in the map-maker (recording camras from a stationary room or mounted machine guns, stuff like that) I hope In this version you can create switches (to turn on/off alarms, lights, or open/close doors) that would be sick. being able to create vents in a building would also be cool.

Smile Map making secrets

And does anyone know any "map making secrets"? like any cool things you used to do In the old timesplitters map maker. I love building my own maps so any suggestions or fun ideas you come up with would be great.

In the new egm, it has a timesplitters 2 preview including a small screen from the map editor. If you squint your eyes really hard, you can read some of the things in the screen shot. It has Tile, Item, Light, Story NPC's, Triggers, Results, and Action. Now, this is not from the final version, so chances are these are not the final options.

Where did you see this trailor/screenshot? Because if this is true It would be awsome, I just wonder if those triggers, actions and results are only for making single player maps or if you could use them when making multiplayer maps too... just think of all the cool things you could do... HOT DAMN I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!

Post only...

only a couple hundred... but seriously it isnt that bad, If you really want online play use your computor, like i said before online isnt really that realistic yet on a console, atleast not in this generation of gaming systems, I think the next generation of gameing will be better prepared for going online and therefore you should just enjoy regular multiplayer and single player, I mean back in the day, online play (or even multiplayer for that matter) was rare, so get over it and if you really "cannot live without it" then dont buy the game.

The screenshot is from egm #158, page 92. My guess is that there are seperate editors for multiplayer maps and single player maps, or at least different sets of options. It looks like this is from a single player map.

Default mapmaker

that is all that is known .... you can set paths for the bots, so they dont just run around like apes...you can give them specific jobs, you can set triggers...aka so you push a button and a door opens, etc...not sure about the auto gun turrets or cameras
