Default 2 Minute Startup Time?! What the...

I just installed Deus Ex: IW. I click on the shortcut to run it, it takes about 2 minutes to load the game. Then when I load a saved game that takes another 2 minutes. The Ion Launcher sometimes brings up an error saying it timed out during loading, when this happens the level finally loads. What is going on? I'm using the latest patch. I know I meet the min. reqs. I have a Athlon XP 2600+ with a Radeon 9800Pro. Ingame it runs perfect on high settings too. I played this game when it first came out and I never had this problem!

Anyone have any solutions? Thanks!!

Join with the rest of us that have the same problem.

Actually I have slower computer as you Athlon 1333MHz + P9500pro.

So load times are even slower. But when game finnaly loads I can play just fine. Go figure.

I guess Eidos does not think there are enough of us to look into this problem.

This is probably last game I buy from Eidos.

Funny thing is also the Demo runs just fine. No timeouts during level loading. I think that it has to do something with copy protection.

I will try to test some stuff in the following days.

I resolved my problem.

It apears that my antivirus software found files inside DeusEx2 install folder suspicius during game load times. After giving this folder to ignor list, my startup and level loads times are down to 25s. Which is a big improvement. over 3minutes.
