Default (PC) Whats changed since the Demo!

Hey, I played the demo when it was first released. I was extremely disappointed with it for a number of reasons, mostly because they didn’t take advantage of EAX and high res tex that the PC can use. So I came on this forum to see if anything has changed, and I saw this texture pack. The screens look very good, are there any issues with this texture pack. And did they ever incorporated environmental sounds (EAX, Open AL) This texture pack and the low price of the game now have sparked my interest in this game once again.

EDIT: oh and is there bump mapping like they said they were gonna have. I didnt see a hint of it in the demo.

There was bumpmapping in the demo. It might not be too noticeable because of low-res textures, but it's there. If you were disappointed with the technology, you'd still be disappointed with the full game because not much is different apart from the community-made texture pack. The only issue with that is increased loading times.

Bumbmapping is a way to fake geometry. The new bumpmapping technique called normal mapping is totally kick butt.

They use a black and white bitmap to approximate the lighting on a 3d surface and it adds detail without adding to the geometry.

What is it with some people and the graphics in Deus Ex games ? They looked fine in the original, and they look great in the sequel.

They are a total hog and absolutely nothing is optimized.

The lighting is nasty and the color schemes are just poor.
