Default Be happy there is a thief 3

I,m new to this forum, but since I joined I've been reading alot about how the next chapter in thief is going to be a wash out.
Well I'll tell you what. When I finnished playing thief 1 & 2 I was heart broken to hear that Looking Glass Studios was gone and the story of Garrett was over. This was the first game I ever played that sucked me in to the story like a great book. Now I find out that a company bought the rights to Thief and are going to continue the story of Garretts life. I'm happy as hell. I don't have to spend the rest of my time playing fan missions. I can finaly resume the rest of the story. As I understand it, some of the original creators of thief have been hired to help with the game. So how is it that anyone can complain about a company
that bought the rights to a game that was gone, and employed the original creators (which I'm guessing they did so as to keep to the original story and characters as best as possible) and say its going to suck about a game that isn't even out yet.
If people think they could have done it better then mabe they should have had the foresight to by the rights to Thief.
As for myself I would like to thank Ion for bringing Garrett back so the rest of us can sit back and loose our self in his adventures.

I don't know how well the first two sold, but they obviously weren't enough to keep poor Looking Glass afloat. As such, you're right when we should be happy that Garrett's returning out the shadows again. Plus, hopefully T3 will indeed attract a larger audience. I've already had some people on different websites tell me they're intrested in Deadly Shadows, and they wonder how the previous games got past them.

Wow, another taffer who shares my views about the new game. The complainers better watch out, they are starting to get outnumbered.

I'm happy as long as the game resembles Thief 1/2 and keeps the atmosphere and storytelling intact. Minor details don't matter much.

Only couple of months...drool.....

i too agree with york

i'm new to these forums and ever before i joined all i have been reading is the same old garbage, how ion storm is going to ruin thief, and it makes me sick, why are you people complaining about that the rope arrows are gone? sure i found them useful too and i will miss them but think about it. How useful were they in a stone building with no wood even in the first 2 games??

i read the preview at pc.ign that mr, spector said that he was going to respect the legacy. and frankly if he says that i'm sure he will go on his word

like honestly, what if ion storm just point blank decided after reading all this stuff on the forums because of all this crap and ungratefulness from all you conplainers, to just up and cancel Thief? think about it. then none of us would have been able to play this new game.

i'm happy for the change, i like the idea of a dagger, because garret got so much better at what he does, he didn't need to carry around a clunky old sword anymore, same thing with the rope arrow, why go through a tower full of armed people when you can climb right up the outside walls to the very top and go in the tower through the roof and work your way down instead? usually thats where the big items are right? like where was the sword in the first game in the mansion? at the top, same thing with the last level in the second one you had to work on the roof.

i like the 3rd and 1st person and i praise ion storm for doing that because it adds to the whole time of playing the game now you can see garret do what he does, i for one am going to be switching between the 2 left and right.

like grow up, if you want to play your fan missions with old graphics, without knowing WHAT happened to garret in the end thats fine with me, i for one will gladly support ion storm by buying Thief 3 when its released and i'm going to have alot more fun knowing what happens in this game and how the story comes to an end

The crabbing about it is ridiculous, if you don't like, you should of bought the rights, make it yourself.

I am absolutely thrilled Thief is coming back, with better graphics. And hopefully, god I hope we shall have fan missions from this too.
