Default Forget why Kain lives again

I've seen this question asked MANY times already, ppl wonder why Kain still lives after Raziel dispatched him (or kinda threw him into the demon realm after ripping his heart out).

It's probably what Moebius and th Elder God wonder also, but there is another (and I think more important) question to ask:

If Raziel is both the Hylden Champion and Vampire Champion, what could Raziel have done in order to get the Hylden to succeed?

Although it looks like they Hylden have their way at the end of the game, the Scion of Balance lives (wielding the weapon that has the free willed soul of Raziel), and thus the Hylden have actually lost (they don't realise it just yet).

What I wonder is, Raziel played out towards ALL THEIR ENDS (possessed Janos says so), so how is it that the Hylden still end up kinda losing?

My explanation for this is that neither race was ever going to win alone: both of the prophecies are wrong. Or let me say, both races interpreted their prophecies wrong.

We know that the real enemy is not the Hylden, it's the Elder God. So probably both prophecies actually did not point towards racial champions that will destroy the enemy race, but he champion that will rid them of the Elder God.

The problem is, both races have to unite to thwart the Elder God. Raziel's dual nature (and the possiblity that the Elder God's essence had something to do with his re-making) provides the weapon that will destroy the Elder God.

And Kain is the Scion of Balance, yet I do not think Scion of Balance means the vampire Balance guardian that will shoo the Hylden away. The Scion of Balance sounds more like the champion that will get both of the races to unite against the Elder God (I don't think you can have balance without the Hylden, it's either both races are out, or both races are in).

The only problem I see right now is that the Hylden have turned into a bunch of crazy demons that seek nothing but vengeance.

hi

it has been said in many threads before that the scion of balance is the balance guardian who reutrns the guardianship of the pillars to the vampires.

the only way that i can think that the hylden could win out of the situatio is if kain is dead. refer to janos and raz talking in SR2 near the end of the game - janos says basically that the humans aren't meant to govern the pillars and they pretty much can't, that is why the bond gets weaker. for every vampire the humans kill, they are slitting their own throats. hence once kain dies, ie the last of the vampires, the bond breaks completely and therefore the hylden can get back to the normal dimension.

remember, through these games kain is trying to return the pillars to vampire guardianship. he wants them to be ruled by vampires.

has anyone actually given a stright answer to the question how kain lives without a heart? does scion of balance (meaning heir to the balance pillar) mean he can't die?

Kain lives because he is tied directly to the heart of Janos. Remember it beats no matter what, where and no matter who it's in.

Since he was created with it, as long as the heart beats he lives. So as long the heart beats Janos lives. As long as the heart beats Hash lives. To kill Hash would be to kill Janos by destroying the heart. By destroying the heart Kain would kill himself. In the end Kain must sacrifce himself to stop the Hylden.

That could very well be the story to the next game.

Then how come Janos "died" when it was ripped from him and Kain didn't? Eh, it'll probably be explained in the next game. I don't feel like thinking right now.

All the more reason to believe that the "Reaver Guardian" is merely a title. Kain was actually symbiotically bound to the Pillars and his Guardianship sustained him.
