Hey Folks,
I've got my brand spanking new copy of Deus Ex burning a hole in my hand here. Before I start, what's the best difficulty to start playing the game on? I don't want to get the France kicked out of me, or have a complete walkover. Should I be safe with Normal? Let me know so I can get playing. (Yeah, I know I can adjust the difficulty at any time, but all the hype, let's face it, this game in an "Event") Azrael

It really depends on how you want to play. Are you a stealth player? or more of a guns blazing type of gamer? If you are going for stealth, full realistic difficulty will be fine. If guns a blazin, normal should be fine, until you replay it.

Bah, it was taking Donkeys Ages for someone to reply.
So I started on Normal. Gah, gotta get used to these controls. Can't find the right balance. Either too quick or too slow. Will get the hang of this though. Azrael

Donkeys age fast! 6:27 - 6:04 = 23 minutes. They must be of the sea donkey variety.

Alas,
I am spoiled by the Morrowind Forums, where honest, uncritical advice is often returned in 23 seconds. But you're right. It didn't take long at all. Azrael

Are we talking about DX or DXIW here?
If it's the first, go with Realistic. Gives you a bit of a challenge which is a very good thing. If it's the second, go with Realistic as well. It isn't a challenge, in fact it's a cakewalk, but it's as good as it gets. |

Well, minding the fact that IW has this very unfair combat (no local damage modifiers for the player), Realistic and no other.
