Default Defragging and Load Times

Last night I uninstalled the game, defragged my hard drive (three times -- thank you XP), reinstalled the game, defragged, installed the patch, defragged, and started a new game.

The load time between levels dropped dramatically, from a "should I go out and rotate the tires on my car" wait to a "wow, it's already loaded" wait.

Good to hear. I just defragged a couple nights ago, but haven't had the chance to fire up the game again...gonna have to try it out tomorrow night.

Although, I have to admit, the load times when I was playing before defragging were not much more than 15 seconds, if that. Not as fast as DX, but not so long that it was annoying.

err, you're not recommending we defrag 5 times before we play DX are you.

Kidding aside, it should be common knowledge amongst gamers that defragging regularly is a must.

Actually, I'd recommend getting a better defragger than the one which comes with XP.

I for one DeFrag Alot..Some would say a Real lot...If i see any red after i anylize, i DeFrag..doing it often also reduces the time it takes for completion...and running Disk Clean first, and deleting unneeded clutter also speed the process...It was mentioned that a better DeFrag should be used...Any Suggestions???
