Pixel shader problems

AHG i just bought this game thinking i was gonno have lots of fun, i first installed it on my comp that has all the recommended settings and an ati radeon 8500, but when i got in the game everything was colored red and when i moved it switched back and forth to the normal color and back to red. so i installed it on my good computor but it said "engine requires pixel shader 1.1 or higher", I am so annoyed at this! Im using a Gforce4 mx 440.
