Default crashed Multiplayer / Reload Option ?

Hi folks,
i got a question. A friend of mine and I were playing Startopia yesterday and it crashed after some time back to desktop!

So i took a look in the forums and got known that this is a bug you all know!

Now here is my question: Is there any option to restart a crashed game ? Can we load one of the savegames to play our game again ?

Thx 4 answers

Yes, you can reload, though you may have to use the second-most-recent save. Disabling autosave can help, bu StarTopia is a bit crashyas it is- be sure to save every 15 minutes or so.

Overmind's got it pretty much covered . . .

You autosaves will let you resume, but it may be a reoccuring problem, in which case you're in trouble.

As already said - stopping the game from autosaving (you may need to read-only the files to do that if I remember correctly) has been known to help but isn't perfect!! You should still manually save every 15-20mins just in case.

Don't know if this will help or not, but I used to crash constantly on my old machine with Startopia. Since I've upgraded to my new machine which has P4 - 2000mhz, 7200 rpm on the HD and 256 Ram (listing all of these because I'm not sure which piece is the biggest help), I haven't had a single crash or instability issue with it. It used to be if it didn't crash after awhile it would slooooooowww down terribly as the station grew, but I'm not seeing that anymore either. I know upgrading your machine isn't a solution everyone can do, but for those of you that can, this really seemed to help the game tremendously.

- 1024 Megs RAM
- Radeon 9500
- 120GB SATA 7.200RPM
etc.

Ahh ok, my mistake. You're correct, I was playing single player.
