I am playing the PC version of the game and for some reason both Raziel and Kain are always in a sneak mode instead of the default running mode when I am using a gamepad for the movement. My gamepad is Gravis Eliminator Aftershock with dual analog. It is sometimes annoying that I have to jump in order to move faster unless I want to use the keyboard. Does anybody have the same problem and if so can you help me with some advise on how to correct that problem. By the way I am using the default gamepad configuration in the game.
Thanks in advance!! Last edited by rsimeono; 01-03-2004 at 12:41 PM. |

Have you checked the calibration in the game controller control panel? It sounds like the left analogue stick isn't giving its full range of motion.

bilincoln,
In the control panel the left analogue stick is set as a joystick mode with X and Y axes. What would the full range of motion be. This setup is the default for the gamepad. Thanks for yor help?! |

well i dont have a PC version of Def, but this happens sometimes on my pad for other games. from the look of it, if a normal setting makes ou only sneak slowly, why dont you try recalibrating the "normal setting" of the stick to be pushed up SLIGHTLY, so that its like it "jumps" over the setting. ill try to draw it out
key: /----\ <--- analog stick- not touched /----/ <----------stick pushed forward all the way ,---, <----- stick pushed forward a little if the original setting of /---\ makes Kain or Raz walk like its at ,---, make the defualt calaberation of /---\ and change it to ,---, meaning when you actually do this on the controller: ,---, Kain/Raz will actually sneak, and doing /----/ will make him run. it might trick the pad into thinking theres a "3rd option" (no pun intended) inbetween the ,---, and the /---/ so that Running would be running, instead of running being walking. i dont know, but test it out if you can understand what im trying to say.

There should be a part of the control panel that lets you test the controls, and has little boxes that let you move around cursors using the analogue sticks. If you can't move the cursor to the edges of the box, that's why you're having trouble.
I don't have a Gravis pad, but the built-in panel and the one for my PS2 -> PC adapter both have this. |

Thank you guys for the help!
blincoln, I went to the control panel and increased the acceleration option for my Gravis pad. That did the trick. Now my character is running by default! Last edited by rsimeono; 01-03-2004 at 03:03 PM. |
