Mouse doesn't work in menus

When I begin the game, it starts up fine. It has never crashed and it runs fast enough. However, the mouse fails to work in the menus -- I have to move around all of the options with the arrow keys and this is getting annoying. When i begin play, i can move the mouse around fine, its just when i press "esc" and go to the menu, the mouse wont move at all, and remains stuck in the middle of the screen. The same effect happens when i enter any other menus, such as the inventory, biomod, or datavault menus. I have a 2.5 Ghz computer that is about a week old, so it has updated drivers and such. The problem might have something to do with the computer runnig full screen but im not sure. Can anyone help me plz?

I had exactly the same problem. Without a mouse in the menu system, the game is virtually unplayable. I installed the patch to v1.1 and downloaded updated drivers for my video card. Now, everything's smooth sailing.

Too bad it doesn't work for me. I own a ACER Travelmate 800LCI laptop with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 card with 64MN VRAM, 1.3G intel pentium, and 512MB DDR ram.

I cannot find a way to update my ATI drivers because the ATI website and Acer's doesn't provide updates, so I'm stuck. I'm thinking of just uninstalling the patch since I can't drop or install weapon mod/biomods.

It's really fustrating. The mouse doesn't show/work in the menus either. Anyone please help?

yea i figured my problem out by updating my video driver. This seems to be the solution to most problems like this, so i would recommend anyone having this problem to update their video card drivers. thanx for everyone's help
