One thing I've been unhappy with is how much constant access there is to the CD drive during gameplay.
Well, now I think I know why. Probably pulling sound files from the cd. In my Deus Ex 2 directory, there are a total of 676 subfolders under the "Sounds" folder, and ALL OF THEM ARE EMPTY! There are 5 files in the root sounds folder then 676 empty subfolders! Wow, someone really didn't know what they were doing when they made the install program did they? rediculous. |

When I read your post I initially doubted your claim...until I checked it out myself. I was surprised to see all the empty folders. The CD access, however, is Sony's Copy Protection system-- Securom. It checks to see that a CD is in the drive every time a level loads and seems to be causing most of our loading problems
