Default Arena Battle

This is a *HINT* to an upcoming project of mine.

If you were stuck in a Roman Amphitheater/Colleseum, what would you use as a weapon?

A. A Morning-Star (Ball and Chain)
B. A Gladius (Roman Sword)
C. A Trident
D. A Scythe
E. A Net

Or...

F. An Axe

All have weaknesses, but all have strengths as well.

I'd take the axe. You can defend yourself quite well with it, except if the enemy has arrows It's durable (even though everything else is as well). I just favor axes. I don't like Roman swords. If you had a broadsword as a choice, I would take it. Roman swords are so much shorter though.

a scythe. even death uses it.

besides, it looks cool, and it`s a VERY fast weapon. if used with enough skill, you can use the blade as a shield

to see how cool the scythe looks, check my sig.

I'll go for the Scythe.

Edit: Changed my mind.

I'll have to agree with Az. for the same reason. You can't go wrong with Death's weapon if your intention is to cause death. And the Death Scythe Hell Custom is my favorite Gundam, so I might be a bit bias.

The scythe, is the most powerful weapon...

That is, when it actually hits something instead of getting caught on something else or missing. The scythe was never meant to be a weapon, but the Grim Reaper doesn't use it as one. He uses it to "Reap" the souls of the living to the world of the dead. Scythes, if they miss, would give you no protection for three seconds. Enough time for someone to stab you. And they do get caught in hand-guards quite easily, despite Roman swords not having hand-guards.

Axes are fun, but very heavy.

Swords were commonly used due to the fact you were getting a shield with it. Although a sword against axe battle would be, bad. The axe would break the sword sooner or later if it is strong enough.

scythes were originally tools for farmers, to cut down the grass (or whatever). since then, the scythe has been adapted to combat. scythes made for war were stronger. this was ment as a weapon. the hit-ratio depends on your skill. i said in my post, that it is an excellent weapon when used with skill. believe me, when you`re adept with scythes, you can do alot of damage.

the Grim Reaper indeed used a farmer`s scythe for that purpose. looked cool though.

Kinda like the double lightsaber in Star Wars. If you don't have the proper training you would inflict as much damage to yourself as you would to the enemy.
