The ideas, environments, and stories presented in the games I purchase are surreal and removed from the range of "normal" occurences in "normal" life (Obviously, not big on FPS, Racing games, or War games), and preferably with touches of humor; good voice actors are a major plus.

It's hard to answer this accurately. I go on gaming binges where I'll play sometimes 10 hours a day for several weeks. Then I'll have dry spells where I don't play at all for a month or two.

depends.probably action/adventure, but that genre is so broad, it really doesnt mean anything. theres 3D action/adv. like defiance, zelda, and metal gear, theres also side scrolling acion, not quite platformer, but enough that is in the A/A genre. theres also the 3 1/2 person overhead view like the GB zelda's and Blood Omen 1. that is choice. you can see everything your supposed to see, no sneak attacks, easy access to aeras, ect.

also Non FF square rpgs are good. FF's are too overrated, but squares others like Chrono series and Xenogears are exellent with new and original gameplay elements. chrono (both), Xenogears, and metal gear maybe the only 3 games that can compete with LoK's Vast and Huge storyline, and they each spread across a nuber of games (even though the Xeno games are now namco's instead of square.) non square rpgs in general are USUALLY a no, not all the time, but not many are very good. though there is that 1 every so often that rules, like knights of the old republic. BTW, this is console- Non PC games. PC games have a truckload of exellent rpgs.

Puzzle games are at a EXTREAMELY close #2 because they are the one genre where the game could actually be 100% perfect. they have Inf. replay value, usually no ending. they can be picked up and played for 5 mins and put down, also many are on a Gameboy cartage (all- GBA, GBC, GB) so they are portible, and can be taken anywhere. wheather you need to wait somewhere, or dont want to go somewhere, a GB, and a good game of tetris always is great.Tetirs, Tetris Attack, Dr. Mario, Yoshi, puyo-pop (non Ngage:P) all great. and tetris is perfect. who can you go wrong?

You'll see my crapload of Drawing 1 pics, all LoK related! aside from things like that, not really. sometimes a conversation with a friend can involve a character or something froma game weve both played as in an example of some sort.

If its a series game, like LoK, its usually the story, and my fanbase to the series. other series like Metriod, where the story usually doesnt have very much to do with the other versions, ill buy only because i know that i loved the last games, and Samus, BTW kicks total butt. just random new games, like Jak and Daxter for example, ill wait for a review, or if it got alot of press coverage of being an awsome game. spors though. Madden, i ALWAYS have to get the new version, regardless of how many hours ive put in to the last incarnation, once the next 200x version comes out, its good by last years, hello new sweetness!

games over allthough. because they are fun. they give me something todo when your bored. an despite what all these angry polititions or mad-mothers say, most games are basicly interactive books. they give exelent stories, and new outlooks on life (seriously, after playing Metal Gear, who didnt think that theres GOT to be something controlling us secretly, or at times we're mere seconds away from getting blown away without even knowing it, then being saved at the last second. or whatever.)
though do have to agree with some later issues of games. such as GTA3. yes VERY fun, but it really does give LITTLE kids the idea that puuling out a AK, blowing someones head off then stealing thier car is ok. though i dont think it should go as far as the current GTA case about sueing rockstar because someguy went out any actually did that. The games were rated M for a reason. anyone who doesnt have common sence to know thats wrong shouldnt be playing it. and since its a M rating, itmeans the Parents obviously had to buy it. even if being carded for M games isnt that big where youre al from, but retailers KNOW that GTA:3/VC is intened for an adult. thoughim going to stop talking about this now because im getting off topic. but this all lead up to this responce, so i had to say it. i couldnt just stop.

Action/Adventure, because that's all I've got in my gaming library for both PC and PS2. Although I'm taking a baby step into playing FFX2, which is... RPG, right? Have no idea how to play it, though. And the new Castlevania, which I'm also testing the water with...

Daily, I'd say between 3-6 hours, depending on what time I get home from work or how much time I've got to myself on days off. If I'm really gaming hardcore, I'd say about 4-8 hours. The hours just fly by. Weekly it's over 24 hours, at LEAST.

7. When not playing a game do you find yourself thinking of nothing but that game?

Okay, okay, I admit that when I'm stuck somewhere and I'm not playing, I work it through my head to see what path to take. I love games that make you think.
And LoK... well... I'm just obsessed. I go over theories in my head like you won't believe. I do alot of daydreaming. The story is that gripping. So yes, I do alot of brainstorming when not playing a game.

8. Do you have a job? If so what is it?

As of now, I work as holiday help in a department store. The bank where I cash my check every friday (across the street from the store), is right nextdoor to GameStop.
Oooh, temptation.
They are also accepting resumes. Guess who's going to type one out, soon?
I'm going to college in February of 04, to persue Drama and English literature. Maybe some graphic design, or something. The hardworking college student deserves a break now and then with a good round of Tekken, eh?

10. What is the major reason that causes you to buy a game?

Depends. If it's a series I've been following for a while and have been anticipating, such as our beloved saga, then I will definately buy it. Also good reviews by multiple sources of sites/magazines/forum members will compell me to buy games. Hence I got Beyond Good and Evil, American McGee's Alice, and Primal, to name a few. Very glad I did. They were highly enjoyable.

This is a bit difficult to answer because I generally either spend half the day gaming or go several days without touching a game. I guess if i were to average it out I'd say two hours a day.

No, although I would if I could.

Story/plot or characters in the case of action and RPGs. Setting in the case of strategy and FPS. I have zero interest in games set in the present day or relatively recent past.
