Can't Install

I didn't know where to put this considering the other technical forum is only for Invisivble War. I just got the first deus ex in some kit with 3 other games (theif II, tomb raider chronicles, etc.) and I am desperatley trying to get it to work. I am running XP and saw that some people found a way around the software incompatibility.

When I install the initial install goes fine. Then after the installation seems over I get errors about damaged zip files?

"Zip damaged: file C:/DeusEx/System/DeusExUI.u: Bad CRC 3b6c7845 (should be 6399de34). Possible cause: file transfer error."

That is one of the errors.

I desperatley want to play it. I've tried installing multiple times. Please help

I am running XP and didn't have any problems with installing the game or running it. I don't know what to tell you. Is this a CD? You may want to check to see if it is scratched or has smudges (fingerprints, etc.) on the disc and see if you can clean it and try to reinstall it.

You could try copying the contents of the CD to a folder on your hard drive and running the Setup program from there. I have no idea if it will work, though ...

I had the same problem some time ago, i don't anymore i have no idea what i changed though, i did heavily upgrade my computer since then, but i don't think that could possibly change anything... not to this problem for a game that old already...

Tried downloading the latests patches and Video drivers already?? Who knows... And if that doesn't work you can always try installing the Direct X that comes with the game, you just won't be able to play other games for a while untill you Finish Deus Ex, but it could do the trick
