I'm hoping for one in 2007/8. In all honesty I'm not all that bothered about it. Defiance is the game I've been dying for. They can take as long as they want with another game now. If defiance had a cliffhanger ending it would be another story alltogether.

I'd love the next game to be a kind of nosgoth RPG where you can explore ALL of nosgoth on lovely PS3 graphics. That would definately be the way to go IMO. I want the entire world open to me whenever I want.

and a choice of character/ability to create you own

The Playstation 3 comes out in 2005. So the timing is actually absoloutly perfect for them to put the game on the PS3.

Exclamation LOK RPG I DUN THINK SO...

As far as an action adventure game LOK rocks but i don't think that it'd be wise to change platform especially to RPG. If you're a fan of RPG and believe me, i am. You'd know that it's not only about exploring the vast environment (Nosgoth isn't even that big, have you played any of the Final Fantasy games?).

It's about interacting with the people and gathering information so you can continue on your quest (this would mean that there wouldn't be any more voiceovers all dialogue would be scripted, i don't know about you but i've become some what attached to the voices of Simon Templeman, Michael Bell, Tony Jay and Anna Gunn).

And this would also mean that all the puzzles would be removed from the game (all the puzzles for the reaver forges would be nothing more than a few switches, and thats if Raziel's gonna be in it otherwise there wouldn't be any puzzles at all).

The length and duration of the game would suffer as well, hell BO1, SR, SR2, BO2 and Defiance wouldn't even last as long as FFVII. And what about the new combat system? do you really want to change that for a turn based combat system? how would that work? in SR Raziel used to have some Glyphs but not in any other game, how crap would an RPG be if there's no magic?!

And what the hell are you talking about a choice of creating your own creater?! What Kain and Raziel's not enough for you, you want to make your own?! FFXI's out already isn't it? go play that!!

OK... calm down... OK he's entitled to he's own opinions...

Although yours isn't a bad idea (it'd be cool having random battles with Demons and Revenants and such) but it'd be a really massive change and personally i don't think it'd be a good idea.

LoK has a well defined story, which generally requires the story within the games to be linear. Linear story RPGs suck. Hell, most RPGs with predefined characters suck. OK, I'll be honest, I think most RPGs suck, with exceptions being those where you don't fight with a menu and where you actually define your own character (basically just the TES series like Morrowind & Daggerfall). And you cannot make a game like that out of LoK, at least not with it fitting into the main story. All you'd get is some random RPG soaked in LoK juice.

I agree that it should stay action/adventure. Making it anything else would be like having a Tomb Raider RPG, or a Knights of the Old Republic RTS game.

I hope we see the next game as a PS3 launch title, but I'm sure whether and/or when there will be one depends on how well Defiance does.

Rolleyes Stupid Gamespot Review

We all loved Defiance but that’s just us the hard core fans of LOK. What about the general public… how can we find out? It would really suck if we all loved it but no one else bothered because of the terrible gamespot review by Greg Kasavin. That guy better watch his back!!

The important thing is to get the word out about how good the game is, and the scores IGN and Gamepro gave it.

If Gamespot is reviewing things poorly, then they will just end up making themselves look like fools in the end when people realize they can't trust their ratings.

Personally, I heard that Greg Kasavin likes to steal bunny rabbits from animal shelters and use them as clubs to beat little old ladies with. That might just be a rumour though.

I heard that they served him a search warrant while he was out of town yesterday and today there's a warrant out for his arrest.

No, Michael Jackson is just a fall guy for Greg Kasavin, the real evil at work behind the scenes.

Don't get me wrong, Raziel is a great concept of a character, but his actual character stunk. He's so whiny and rightous, he always points out the obvious (I feel sorry for his voice actor having to repeat the same things over and over again). "I can't open this door until I'm in the material relm. I can't swim up here until I'm in the material relm. I can't do ANYTHING until I'm in the material relm." (Yet he can climb walls, which wasn't mentioned in the game)

I'll miss him, but good riddence. Making another soul reaver game would be utterly useless. How many times do we have to imbue the reaver with the same elemental energies? How many times must he tell mobius "You've been setting me up step by step. This has all be one big scheme!" Yes, duh! Of course it is you blue idiot! And no matter what you do, no matter how much free will you have, you'll just mess it up even more. So go back into the reaver and put your free will into Kain's hand.

Could he be brought back? No, but that doesn't mean another game with him in it is out of the question. We could always do the post BO2 era where Kain is conquoring Nosgoth and you have to stage battles, insurections, and assasinations of pathetic human leaders.

As for the blue soul devouring Raziel? "Good night sweet prince, and may flights of angels wing thee to thy rest"

What about Kain with all the "Vae Victius" Or the "I need to find another piece of the Balance Emblem."

Hell Simon has been doing that longing and you feel sorry for Micheal?!

It is a friggin game both actors get paid to do those voices and so does any other actor for a game character. GET OVER IT!

You also say his concept was great. Do you mean his character's look or the idea and depth of the character. If it's the latter his concept is for him to be self-rightous. He blamed Kain for tossing him to the Abyss and even Kain said it was hell. So Raziel had some right to that. Even though he didn't know it or realized Kain was one of the few people to have been truthful to him.

Defiance Spoiler:

How about this for a sequel? Raziel having gained the balance embument and devoured by the sword, now speaks to kain, who he is bound to through the healing. This perpetuates his voice in the future games as Kain's companion. Also, Kain now gains new powers he must master, one of which is to move in the spectral realm even though he is flesh (the demons can do it so Kain can too now).
The pillars are still destroyed at the end of defiance, so there's still that part of the story to complete, not to mention that the reaver blade the elder Kain wields is from the past and must be returned there so that all of LOK can occur at all. Janos is trapped in the Demon Realm, and there has to be more to it, since Kain knows where he is. I see more timestreaming, more reality bending, and more paradoxes that yet need to be done, but now Kain must do the honors.
My question is: if Bo2 depicted the defeat of the hylden's plan to enter Nosgoth, and LOKD depicts the defeat of the elder god, then what's next as far as a villain? All the nine are dead (including ariel and moebius for good) and the future has been changed by those deaths, as has some of the past. So whats next? Does Kain have to find a way to release the Vampires of the blood curse? Does he need to restore the pillars? Will the Demons become the next real enemy or are they just pawns of the Hylden? So much left to find out and infinate possibilities are now open that weren't before. Please please please make another LOK!

Uh no. There is no indication that Kain has gained that power nor Raziel speaks to him.
