Someone mentioned that the light meter in DX:IW has been ditched. I HOPE this doesn't mean that you can't hide in the shadows or drag unconscious/dead bodies to the shadows to avoid detection. Does it???
One thing I liked about Splinter Cell was that you could hide the bodies and avoid triggering alarms. The one thing I did NOT like about SC was that it cheated; it would put non-existent NPCs in the area after you left and "find" your hidden victims, then set off alarms. That was so annoying. In some areas, no matter how hard you tried to hide them, they were "discovered." Anyone know how hiding bodies will be handled in DX:IW? |

I think there is already a thread on this.
like in DX1, the shadows still play a big part. it's just that you will have to trust your own skills rather than a lightmeter to know if you are hidden or not. like in DX1, in fact |

Forgive me. I will spend a couple hours searching for it then.

Thanks Iron_Weasel! I appreciate the link.
It didn't say anything about hiding bodies, tho (just yourself). I just wondered if I'll be able to do that only to have the AI "find" them later. |

I'm fairly sure that it will most likely be as in the original DX or the Thief games. That the enemies doesn't "autofind" the dead bodies.

On Liberty Island, I tried to hide some bodies by dumping them overboard....
I forgot that dead guys float - D'OH! ![]() As for the light meter: I think perhaps the experience might be better due to its removal. Having said that though, I think it might've been an interesting inclusion. But hey, fans and mod-makers and the like make all types of downloadable add-ons for games now, don't they? Maybe somebody could develop one at some point and make it available to those who want it?
