Action/RPG? I’d actually like to see an inventory system in T3 (like System Shock 2’s), but what I DON’T want to be seeing is any taffing stats!!! Thief’s no RPG and It should remain that way. Garrett’s an expert thief so he couldn’t build up his stats any higher anyway. A stamina bar maybe interesting, but I’d definitely leave it at that. RPG??? I can’t see that happening! I think that ‘Role Playing Game’ is a wrong choice of words to associate with T3.

I think people are reading too much into this little article. The guy who wrote "action/rpg" was the author of the article, not any of the people working on the game. The actual quotes in the article were a discussion of AI behavior that have nothing to do with whether the game will foolishly include rpg elements or not.

I seriously doubt ISA has any plans to drastically change the gameplay mechanics of Thief like that. The person who wrote this article just doesn't know how to categorize games!
