I can't play anyone of the 2 demos

I have tried both demos of commandos 3: destination berlin. But i am unable to play it. I have Direct X 9 and can't understand that what the actual problem is. When i start the demo it says

"This application has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor."
