Default Help!!!!! Error when installing TR3

Hi,
I just bought Tomb Raider 3, and after installing it, when I tried starting the game an error box appeared. It said: tomb3.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You'll need to restart the program. An error log is being created.

I talk to a guy from eidos and he told me to download the Directx 9.0 version. So I did, but the error kept on showing. I talked to him again and he told me to download a patch from the tombraiderchronicles.com It's called windows 2k/xp fix for windows 2000 (wich I have). So I did an still the same error keeps on showing. I'm dying to play the game!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone help me??????????
Thanks
Tequila from Mexico

You may be better off asking this in the TR forums. There are individuals there who are more knowledgeable than I am in this field.

To get the information you require, it is best to give as much detail as possible. ie, which Windows OS are you running, what graphic card, processor and speed, etc.
TR3 should not require DirectX9 as it it came out back in the mid to late 90's, long before DX9 was even thought about, though it should still run under 9.0.

Also, the 'Report this post to a moderator' link should NOT be used to seek further help. After all, as it says in the report window, This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.

Best of luck in sorting out your problem though.
