How on earth do you get new limit breaks, i apologise if this is a stupid question, but it has always bugged me. I could get further so much faster if i just knew how you got new limit breaks (oh and by the way, i don't mean the level 4 ones, i just mean how the game decides when it's time to give you a new limit break)

...I used to know.
I think limit 1 is unlocked once you killed a certain number of enemies with that character (this is why Aeris is so hard to limit out and Cloud is so easy.), and limit 2 is unlocked after a certain amount of uses of limit 1. And there are 3 levels of limit 1 and 2. Last edited by Rengar; 08-26-2003 at 10:10 AM. |

I know it says not to do this on GameFAQs but here is an excerpt from the faq by GideonD
"The values below are approximate, not exact, though to the best of my knowledge the number of times used for everyone should be dead on, and the number of kills needed should always be within 5 of the true number. Submitted by GideonD|North American Greatest Hits Version|Counted by 3 People |

On more thing. Does the person who you are trying to get the limit for have to make the kills or can the group containing the person who you are trying to get the limit for do it.

Just the person you are trying to get the limit for. A good method is to use either Trine or Beta (or even Magic missle if it's good enough.) and kill groups of enemies (they come in groups of at least three, but usually five.) in the mountains behind Corel.

example with cloud, use the first one 8 times, then after you unlock the second one in level one, you have to kill 80 enemies, then after you unlock the first limit of the level 2, then use that one eigth times then repeat the same, kill 80 enemies, then when you unlock the firts one in level three you have to use it 8 times, then you can use the omminlash that you won in gold source, that apply to everyone, but i am not sure about flower girl , i hate her, se sucks

Thanks. although I don't think that the corel thing was much help yet. (i'm just near junon harbour) oh and by the way, i don't like aeris either. The problem however with doing things this way is that I am having to do it all over again with Yuffie and will have to with Cait, Vincent and Cid.

I know an easy way to kill ruby and emerald anyway. I'll be getting Knights Of The Round still though.
don't worry about the chocobos yet, i'll ask for stuff about them when i get up to them. |

no, there is not another way, there is only one way, and emmerald goes first then ruby, you cannot kill ruby first and u need to create 2 mimic materia in order to face ruby, the limist wont do anything to them, trust me i tried every single posibilities and there is only one way

I took out Ruby first. Truly.
It's been years since I did it on the PSOne, but I know I took out Ruby first, because the last darned thing I figured out in that game was how to get around Emerald's Aire Tam Storm attack. |

Rusty memory here - seriously it was a long time ago, but I already had KotR and mime materia - you don't need to beat Emerald to get them.
The trick had somethign to do with killing off your second and third party members before going in to the fight with Ruby, that way you avoid the really annoying first part of the fight with the tentacles, then you revive your KO'd party members and kick off. As I say, it's a long time ago and I don't remember the exact details. |

Here you go. I'm posting this as a spoiler, so hilight the blue box below to read the text, but this is the method.
Courtesy of Kao Megura's indispensible FFVII FAQ - I don't know if it's posted anywhere nowadays though. |

my solution is simpler than that. and requires only one character.
