Default AOD no Workee

My system specs:
Alienware Area 51
Pentium 4 - 2.66ghz
Windows XP Home SP1
1ghz RAM
Nvidia FX5800 Ultra- 128mb-44.03 drivers
Soundblaster Audigy 2 6.1

Everything I own, all the Tomb Raider series, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid 2, etc. runs perfect with these drivers. Not AOD. Opening cutscenes all are OK. After that no menu screens or anything else. You can hear the audio playing in the backround. Please help. If worst comes to worst I will play the PS2 version. I will not, under any circumstances, change my whole system to run 1 game.

Did you get the patch already? Also, there is a forum just for tech support so you'll probably get more help there.

This seems like the common problem, experienced by many people, including me. In the advanced display options of Windows control panel, go to your video card options and disable the antialiasing, or set it to be application-controlled. In the game settings, under General, set the frame rate compensation to Fast. Give some feedback if that worked.

Thanks Cycro

That's sorted out a problem for me . I've tweaked and twirled all the settings that I thought were releveant but never counted on the frame-rate compensation being the bad guy of the piece!

My menu's work fine again now so I can get on with playing it through a second time .

Ah, spoke too soon - I map the Action key to my left mouse button and when I press it the game freezes until I release it again. That'll make fighting a tad difficult .

I also map Jump to the right mouse button and clicking that brings up the desktop context menu ... grrr.

The search continues I guess.

Depending on what type of mouse you have, check your mouseware and see what those button are programed for.

Thanks CyCro, turning off the anti-aliasing did the trick. Everything works fine now.
