Talking Would anyone still be interested in a Startopia Mission Editor?

I have JUST finished my project of the last couple of months, and i stupid thought hit me, would anyone actually care?

So im putting this up to see if i should waste my time finding web space or not.

Would anyone be interested in a high quality Startopia mission Editor?

Behold the mightly features!:-

- Colour Coded text making the code easier to understand

- All colour formatting is saved as a data file to stop the need for constant reformatting

- Many complicated code features created in easy to understand dialog boxes

- Built in Trader File Editor to make the creation of traders easier

- Compatable with both the old and new versions of the startopia mission structure

well......anyone?

That actually sounds fantastic.

If it helps make more mods for Startopia then Its all good.

I would definately try and do something with it if you did release it.

So please do

I can host it, And I could make a webpage to go with it as well.

I have a Startopia website: www.thestartopialeague.tk and I would be delighted to host your spledifirous creation.

However, if you wish to do it yourself I would recommend my current hosts: www.50megs.com

Its very easy to do everything you want with them.

EDIT: I just noticed you're a Scot, so am I. Whereabouts are you?

I dont think he is coming back for a month or two. And it would be cruel to subject your fans to such a long waiting time.

By all means, get it up somewhere now. When the opportunity arises we should have it on the Post as well, though.

http://www.freewebspace.net/

They have a big list of free web space providers. There maybe one there that suits you.

You doubted our enthusiasm???

Mad! Totally mad!!! We're all thrilled by the idea, I'm sure!

Does it support placing items in segments through a GUI (Graphical User Interface... OK, something like a picture of the station layout and a dot for the item.)?

If it does, you've earned the undying loyalty of ST modders, everywhere...

The GUI needn't be fancy. You could ask the person to type in the deck and segment numbers. Then a grid system will do the rest, you will only need to animate orientation within the grid and the rotation levels. Fun, fun, fun!

I don't need to tell you how useful this would be in the Yetucyun Guild...

Maybe you can compress it into sections. I don't have WinZip or WinRar, but there may be a way to create several smaller files that you can put onto a hoster. It's a little bit of a pain, but it would work.

Zipping it is a good idea.

Try that.

Here's a thought. How about starting a Startopia Yahoo! group. You don't actually have to use it for anything, but you ARE allowed to upload files smaller than (I believe) 30 MB or something. Plus, it's free.

Also, I'm new here. Hi.
