Controller options

I can't figure out how to change the controller options for AOD. The book says I can pick from three, one of which should be the one I played with over the last 5 games, but it's not on the options menu or any other on the game. Am I stupid or is there some trick to changing the configuration, or is it a bug in the early release of the game? Anyone that knows I would appreciate your help or input.

Apparently the manual is wrong.

It was printed before the decision to have fixed controls was made.

You can't change 'em.
