I saw Blitzkrieg at the 2002 E3 show and thought it had potential. Don't reacall how well one can micro manage small groups or individual soldiers but many RTS games are leaning toward the Commandos style of doing that better than they did in previous RTS games.

I've played the demo and I must say I'm dissapointed with it. The graphics of the game look old and the animation of the soldiers is a bit blocky (not a work huh
). As for the rest I didn't really liked the game overall. I'm not a big fan of games in which you have to controll tanks & airplanes anyway.

All RTS games are a bit like this. You have this abitious strategic battle front filled with soldiers, tanks, planes, trucks, buildings and a zillions other things that sort of melt together. Even with good zoom it's hard to go out enough to get a good scope of the action and if you zoom way in you lose the effect too.
A year ago I saw Blitzkrieg as something of that genre I like- (WW 2). All in all there is nothing exactly like Commandos which is RTT (Real Time Tactics) which, to me, is more fun. Many RTS games are extensions of the board games made by Avalon-Hill of the 1960-70s. I'd still take a free copy of Blitzkrieg
