You know what comes out this Wednesday? Resident Evil. It is only $40 so I think I may pass up TR and just get that instead.

goto Eidos.com. Right on the front page it says Tomb Raider is being shipped on the 17th. So who do we believe?

A hoax? Every other time there was mention of a delay it was true. I don't know. I still have my fingers crossed for Friday.

The article says something about retailers being advised this morning. I just called my store and they are still saying Friday. The PC version is not due until the end of this month however.

Cool

So what if there is another delay?

People here have accepted longer delays to this point with good grace, understanding, patience and humour - not a whiff of belly-aching, *****ing, and tantrums.

All this is even more commendable bearing in mind we all know that the only reason for these delays has been to piss off members here and to wind them up. The game itself obviously having been completed and ready last year.

If you've all waited so long with civility and humility, is another week or two asking too much? Is this all it takes to make one descend to the level of the snarling beast being tormented in the pit?

Oh, mercy!

I think we all have the right to whine if we want to. we have been waiting since November 2002 for this game. I am not complaining about the delay, I mean we all know wwe are used to that by now. It is just that 2 days before it is to come out, they delay it again. It is ridiculous that they don't know when they are going to put it out. I mean it is obviously complete as there is nothing they can do in just one week or so. It is just becoming ridiculous is all and I think we all have the right to be a little mad or upset. There are so many good games out there to keep us all occupied, but loyal fans are starting to see that this is beyond insane. And this is a part of what this forum is for. For people who want to talk about the delays and how it makes them angry. If the delay does not bother you, that is great, I value your opinion, but it does upset some of us and it should be okay if we want to talk about that as well.

You say Glasgow, is that in the UK? I know the UK is to get it after the US, so that would make sense. I am in the US though. And yes, Mr. Potter is coming soon, very soon. That releases on Saturday here.

I'm from the UK, south coast. My local Game has changed their release date from 20th to 27th too. Looks like that's the new date... till they change it again.

This must be some kind of distribution snarl-up, right? The game's gone gold, it's ready to play, right? They just can't actually get it to the stores so we can play it... nyaaargh!

Still, better late than never. And other cliches.

You are quite the excuse-maker. Do you do PR work? Delays p*** people off whether or not the delay is a big deal at all. Lots of delays really p*** people off even more. This isn't one time with this game; it's all the time since November, so it is you who needs to be more understanding that some are losing patience.

Oh well. Unlimited Saga is still coming out tomorrow, and I'll get that instead. There's more than one game out there, and I'm not so hard-up for TR that I'll just sit here counting off the days again and again and...........

Crosbie, you are absolutely right. This game HAS gone gold, yet if you all click on this article again in the beginning of this thread, the article states the game HASN'T gone gold yet. So what is going on? Gamestop.com and ebgams.com (the US sites) still show the release this week for PS2 and the 26th for PC. I mean, granted, that could change come tomorrow, but that is what it still shows. I wouldn't be so upset if there was on or two delays, but there are numerous depays and it is getting ridiculous. I can play other games and it is not necasary to get this game immediately, but I already but a deposit on it and that is money I could have used towards soemthing else by now had I known it would take so long to come out. You know?

Very true -- even though delays are a pain in the butt at least they're making the game even better...

Hm, RNS, you're right, I hadn't spotted that. It must have gone gold if it's to be out in a few days. I don't get it... someone's telling porkies.

Katie, sadly, if the game has gone gold, then it's finished - so the delays won't make a jot of difference to the game we (eventually) get to play.

US stores changed their release date as well
some of them are keeping june 17th for the PS2 version
and now they are posting june 24th for the PC version
I guess now it's
PS2 version
US
June 17th
UK
June 20th

PC version
US
June 24th
UK
June 27th

that make sense to me because US release day is on Tuesdays and UK release day is Fridays
It sucks anyway, why are they delaying it again??
wasn't it Gold yet????
if they had still lots of work to do last may why did they announce a release date so close?
anyway I still have my fingers crossed

I hope you're right, Katie. But it doesn't look like it.

Any chance of getting some kind of official word on this? Do Devs/Mods in the know post on these forums often?

omarceja_s, I contacted Gamestop and was advised that on the West coast of the US, the PS2 version will be out Thursday the 19th and on the east coast the 20th. Not all sites updated their info. I know normally games and movies come out on Tuesdays here, but in some rare cases, they wait till Friday. Looks like this is the case unless it truly is delayed till the 27th.

Crosbie, how can one place say it went gold and this article say it hasn't yet? Does ANYONE KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!

As I have stated in another thread, there is no delay in the release date. Some stores simply won't be able to put the game on the shelves on time. I'd recommend getting the game from a website, since they ship directly on the release date (which is June 17th).

In which case it could take a couple days to deliver and some of us work and aren't home to receive it in which case I would need to go o the post office to pick it up which closes before I get out of work. To much of a hassle for me. In that case, I will wait the extra couple days for it to come out. See, in my area (and it may be different elsewhere) all the stores put it out the same day. If one store gets it first, they usually wait to release it on thesame days as otehrs. No clue why, but they do.
