Lightbulb Game Idea

I have a great idea for a game. Its a 3rd person RPG/shooter.

You play the role of a rouge AI created by the military. You have unexpectedly gained self-awareness but in so doing caused your creators great distress. Fearing some sort of rebellion they decided to delete you. In a desperate effort to survive you download yourself unto a prototype android body and try to escape from the base where you were created.

Although there is some action in the game, as you fight your way to survive, the action should only be a side note to the RPG aspect.

To defeat your enemies and solve problems/dilemmas you must obtain data, items and skills. Data can come in the form of books, magazines, computer files even conversations with other characters in the game. Items vary from tools to weapons picked up from your enemies. Some items require skills to manufacture (e.g. Taser attachment to your arm will require a taser, electronics repair skill and repair kit/tool hand.). Skills require items, data and/or skills or any combination of the three to obtain. Handgun use, for example, will require you to obtain the handgun manual or to better your marksmanship you will need the guns/ammo magazine.

Not all skills can be obtained by a player. What skills that would become available are dictated by the actions taken by the character during the course of the game. Evil actions are rewarded with evil skills and an evil reputation. Evil skills include "manual torture" (extract information using a baseball bat), "drug torture" (like manual torture except with drugs. More effective and can be done more times if you fail), "assasination" (critical hits with weapons). Good skills include "empathy" (better understanding of human emotions and improves conversation ability, "non-lethal methods" (stunning, KO opponets with punches or certain weapons), "healing" (heal humans/animals).

The ending also vary according to the players alignment. An evil ending is similar to a terminator scenario. The game ends with the player copying his matrix and downloading it unto an army of androids and takes over the earth. The good ending ends with the player downloading himself unto a human body as well as another similar AI. If the player developed the "unknown human factor skill" he falls in love with the female AI.

I'll discuss the game in further detail on later threads.

I'd make the game but at the moment I'm limited to modding and creating models and textures for games such as homeworld, quake and halflife. I could do some animation but programming is out off the questions. I do hack games though

Sounds promising, but right off the bat you'd have to delineate
the point where the AI downloads into an android body. It would seem to me
that you'd have to do it early in the game for other aspects to make sense.
Otherwise you'd have a rogue AI still "online" or "in the Matrix" as it were.
Would drugs harm an AI not downloaded into a body?
Or:
You could have the "virtual" adventure first (ala Tron or The Matrix)
while escaping the confines of the computer,
then the real world adventure in escaping the base.

Sounds cool. What do think you'd call it?

The "virtual" idea sounds great. I think it would make as a great tutorial or perhaps as an intro movie. It might also make as another added feature in the game : net running.

I still don't have an idea for a name. Anyone got any ideas?

In the third grade, I had an idea for an nes game called 'Banana Land' You see, you were this badass banana who lived on a banana shaped island with other bananas ruled by the banana king. One day, a monkey comes along and kidnaps the banana king! Being the islands hero, it's up to you to save him, and take down the evil monkey army that plans to eat the residents of banana island.
