Unhappy Lightning Conductor

Is there a limit to how many lightning conductor objects can be used in a level? I have used about 4 but it seems only the first one works, the rest don't.

I really don't know. i havn't used many Lighting Conductors in a level b4. When you say you have used the lighting Conuctor 4 times, do you mean the actual object 'Lighting Conudctor' or have you just used the Flame Emitter and put a 1 and a 2 in the OCB?

I remember using the Flame emitter and putting a 1 in the first and a 2 in the second then they look like lighting. But i only used that just the once in the level. I don't no about the limitations about Lighting Conuctors though. If there is a limit and you can only have 1 in a level then i suggest doing the Flame Emitter and making them look like Lighting Conuctors.

You may alrrady be doing that

Thanks for replying Yasin and Tomb Raider Fan. No the Lightning conductor object only produces a blue fuzzy line where you put it, to get the flash of lightning in the sky throughout the level you put the Lightning Enabled in the script.

I'm using the lightning conductor object TRF, I didn't know you could produce the same effect with flame emitters - I'll try that. Thanks!

Unhappy

I tried putting 1 and 2 in flame emitters but they just produced ordinary flames. Or do you mean the flame emitter2? But I need them to be lethal and flame emitter2 won't hurt Lara.

Anyway I don't know what to think now, I've just tried a small six room level with four lightning conductors and they all worked so it must be something in the other longer level stopping them working.

As TRF explained if you put 1 or 2, 3 or 4 as ocb code they produce electricity, but

you got to use Flame_emitter3 for this, but if you trigger these you get electricity lines.

OCB codes for Flame_Emitter3:

1 = small ball of electricity ( makes buzzing sound )
2 = after triggered the electricity jumps to an object ( it keeps sending the electricity to the object )
3 = Same as 2
4 = Same as 2 and 3

but about the lightning conductors, that very odd.. perhaps you anttriggered them in your level further on ??

Hi again,

I thought you just wanted a little lighting effect not a huge leathel one. If you want to have a huge ball or streaks of lighting coming down at Lara and hurting her, you could use the Tomb Raider 1 lighting ball effect. Remember in Palace Midas? (if that is the level). The lighting strikes Lara if she gets too close. All you have to do for that is type 888 in the OCB for the Flame_Emitter 3 object. That will create lighting that will follow Lara and kill her if she catches a light.

This one i thnik your not after. You said you wanted huge leathel lighting well this is just for an effect. I cannot remember which Flame emitter you have to place to get this effect. So so you will just have toi try every one of the 4 Flame #emitters and test them all. Place a Flame_Emitter on one square and place a Flame emitter on another square, The Emitters must be facing each other! (Only one square between the 2 Flame emitters allowed or else it won't work). Then type 1 in one of the Flame emitters in the OCB and 2 in the other. Then trigger the 2 Flame Emitters. Then the lighting should be puffing out of the 2 cones while facing each other.

If it didn't work tell me, I will try and find my old Project for The Zamar Lab because that had it in it. Or you could just download the level and look at the Project on how to set it up.

Oh I remember the lightning in TR1 but I think you mean St Francis Folly, the room labelled Thor! (yay I love that level!) And yes that was great lightning, much better than the fuzzy blue stuff you get with TR4 - if I could only recreate that I would be very happy! So flame emitter 3 is the one with 888? OK I'll give that a try, thanks TRF.

And thank you Yasin, I will try the 1 and 2 again with Flame Emitter 3 as well and see if that gives the effect I want.
