kain going into spectral plane? (i make spoiler to SR2 ending also in here be aware)

Ok, in BO1 when u r going after the soul reaver (also in other parts toward the end around the catheral) you go through those "portals" in the puzzle fashion, which look exactly like what the spectaral plane looks like. I came to conclusion cuz of this

1. it has the blue/greenish hazy tint all around - u know what im talking about

2. You fight those horned monster thingies just as raziel does in the speciarl plane at the end of SR2 (if you can't beat them in material form they appear in spectral for those who have never knew )

3. THose portals when you are going through the whole puzzle sequence follow the same rules, you are in the a world where "time stops" or atleast appears too, and just all around it just looks like the spectral plane..


where I'm going with this? Well can kain or not shift? if so at the end of SR2 can't he simply shift into spectral and talk to raziel sine raziel couldn't maintain himself anymore in material world?



yes i know there was the audio and cutscences that didn't make the cut in SR1 but I'm just wonderin what u guys/gals think of it

yes kain can shift, if u play soul reaver 1 and go to fight kain for the first time u can see him shift. as soon as u seen him vanish or begin to go to spectral ur self, u should see kain in spectral going to the material plain.

However if you are asking whether or not he could shift at the time of BO then I don't know. After he evolves a few hundred years he gets the ability, but I don't think he had it in BO1 time.

yea yea thats what im asking

seriously on BO since u never got any "power up" or something that stated you could, but it seemed like you could while getting the reaver

I noticed that too! and the monsters looked the same too.


I always thought kain didn't follow raziel into spectral is because in Bo he used portals (he was running after the guardian of the dimension pillar afterall) which put him there.I wonder why he wasn't shifted into the hylden dimension........oh yeah, because it was added on in SR2.

that wasn't a 'smart arse' remark. I really meant it. I thought exactly the same thing as you posted. The comment about the hylden was getting at whoever brought that concept into the series. It was nothing to get at you mate. I really did think he was in spectral....

Actually I've not played BO in ages....*ever since I got SR2* so I dont even remember that part.

well on the original blood omen, Kain could go into the etherial realm cause of the wraith armor cause if you listen to the describtion about it, it say that it goes between physical and etherial realms
