Sound COMPLETELY drops out frequently. Requires re-launch. Help??!
Just grabbed DX:HR-DC on Steam Sales, huge fan of the original, own both DX:HR and Missing Link, and keen to give this edition a thorough play-through.
Initially I did have some graphics stuttering the DC (my rig plays the original DX:HR flawlessly) but the RegEdit tweaks suggested here and elsewhere online fixed them. Am now comfortably able to play the game fluidly on Max settings, but a bug that initially popped up every hour or so is now happening every 2-5 minutes:
All the sound just cuts out completely.
Initially I thought my speakers were crapping out but after a physical inspection and an alt+tab that revealed that other system sounds/music was working fine, I realised it was the game that was going silent. Reloading a save file doesn't fix the issue and although sometimes the sound will stutter in and out before failing, the only way to resolve the issue is to completely re-launch the game.
This is a GAME BREAKING bug and it's driving me nuts.
If anyone has any suggestions/advice, or can link me to a solution thread, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
