Default Demons

Demons heh, where to begin

I have been working my way through the LoK series and arrive now at the close to end of SRII...just after getting the air reaver (so I still have a little ways to go but its not bad).

Anyways with the advancing plot must come harder enemies and they have spoken, Fire Demons. These guys I find to be insanely tough heh. Now working with Lightning, gas, acid I can smack them up and not die without a problem but the tricky part about this fire demons is that they dont have to recover from hits, ie my hits dont phase them.

Even using the SR I find it hard to kill them without being sent spectral to finish one off. In my search to find a proper way to kill them (for I believe that all monsters in LoK series have a basic way to kill them by learning their moves and working with it) have discovered I am to fight many later on in groups of three (sigh) also I'm expected to beat their faster, stronger brothers, black demons.

Any strategies on toasting these suckers a little easier?

Lightbulb Welcome to the forums, BTW...

The Fire Demons and Black Demons are typically slow, yet very powerful. Practice your dodge (usually by sidestepping) and attack techniques to vanquish them.

Would it be smarter to use the soul reaver against them for its power or stick to weapon/claws to offset the probability that I'm gonna overload my reaver?

Fire Demons have a tendency to attack when you’re on your third strike, so just hit them twice and quickly sidestep out of the way. Repeat until dead.

There are a decent number of them in the game. I gave up on strategy and didn't use the autoface at all. I read a suggestion on one of the forums to just run madly at them, swinging away, over and over. It works pretty well =).

That's my usual technique most of the time. I am too gung-ho for my own good.

Well they may say that these demons are slow but they seem fast enough for me. Wheres that slow time item I'm looking for from blood omen

I just saved in town after trashing three fire demons (seperately) hardest fight I've had yet, reading ahead I am now mentally preparing myself for the black demon I must fight...

The count until I reach the end?

Fire: 2
Black: 5

I still have that 3 black demon at once fight which is giving me the creeps. Do I get a t-shirt for this? *sigh this is what happens when an RPG'er attempts any other type of game.

You face three of them at once later on in the game

I personally use auto-face, then I can quickly dodge out of the way when I see them swinging or trying to slam the ground (much like Dumah in SR1 - coinscience? I think not ).

I tried blinc's way a few times - although seeing how rubbish I am at quicking running around whilst trying to hit, I gave up on that

Run away while swinging the Reaver. Then when it gets so aroused it drains your health, turn and face them.

Heh... Yeah, sucks when our kind first tries to get into the action world, does it not?

Thankfully, I grew up when the NES was first coming out, so most of my initial experiences were with action/adventure games (Mario, Mega Man, Zelda, etc.). So although I will forever be an RPG'er at heart, the action/adventure class isn't that far outside my realm of understanding. Given enough time to practice (usually an hour or so), I even perform passably at FPS's.

Now sports games... ewww... *shudders*

Welcome to the forums, btw.

BAH!!!

heh I too am an RPG'er, but much like Rio here I have countless hours logged on from playing Mega Man and Shinobi games growing up. =F

Sports games can eat me... as well as sports in general. I'll gladly sit in my room and read my book as the other kids kill each other while playing football.... hmm too bad I'm not a kid anymore... *sigh*

Just fill the bastards full of projectiles. When the Reaver starts gettin aroused go swing it at them and they will die, instantly. No contest.

Heh I went toe to toe with the one which appears right in front of you and occasionally got hit with a fireball but never got touched by the big guy. I just dodged around him all the time making one swing then dodging, when he charges I dodge twice so I can unload a three hit combo on his *butt*.

I beat em heh yay I'm gonna celebrate by putting on socks...

Thanks guys for the help and input, its time to go kill myself! In game...

Oh! That's just made me remember... face them in the Spectral Realm! The Reaver doesn't get aroused there, so you don't have to worry about it turning on you

Thumbs down Disgusting demons

I really hate those stupid demons. They *always* send me to the spectral. The only way I can fight them is to hold the crouch button and kick them in the shins until dead. They seem to have a harder time acquiring a lock on me when I am almost directly underneath. But even so, they are just too hard. There are a couple somewhere that I can nail with the projectile, but all others require literally toe-to-toe combat. I HATE THAT!

The demons that barf or spit fire are the worst.

Oh, I remember! You duck down and kick them in the feet. They can't block you that way. They can still attack you though, (which they do). Try using triangle with the Reaver on and ducked down. That works too.
