    Ok, that's it.
I've played all TR-games, including goldies and
I'm a big fan of Lara. I've been waiting for
years to play TRAOD. But I'm sad to say:
    I need help!

    So, what's my problem?

I've made a full install of TRAOD.
Everything look fine (did even before the 4.2 patch).
I can see all FMV:s, the menus, I start a "New game",
    I see the movie.
    Here comes my trouble:
The loadingscreen appears (shouldn't there be a
"loading measurement" here?) and I can hear Laras
first line: "This looks like a safe area, but I
need to find a way out."
Whith the loadingscreen still there (not a black screen)
    my machine locks up COMPLETELY.

Feels like I've tried every little trick mentioned
on this forum whithout any luck.

    Please help!!!

    Default Fixed

Hey - I figured out my problem. All I had to do was download the latest version of Windows Media Player and reconfigure my MPG files to play on WIndows Media Player instead of Winamp.

Default PS2 problem Stealth mode and item menu

    I have two problems

    1. It says that while in stealth mode Lara can hold her gun and then you can target while in stealth, but she won't hold a gun while in stealth, and when she is holding a weapon and she goes into stealth, she puts it away.

    2. I can't select maps from the item menu. I push the select button when, for example i highlight the map of the sewers under paris and click it, nothing happens, shoud I be able to view the maps?

    Thank you for you help.

    Default PS2 Problems

    Hi,

Just to let you know - you're not alone... I have exactly the same problems.
Also Dual Shock doesn't work, and of course you cant change the configuration of the hand controller!

Any patches for PS2? Thought not!!!!!!!!

    The End

The patch worked for me. The guy at the bar now has a face. Though, I'm not sure if that is a blessing or a curse now that I've seen his ugly mug.

Does anyone know where the shotgun is? I'm debating whether to start the game over with if it's early in the game.

Interesting, my booklet didn't say that. Where did you read that?

Default I dowloaded the patch, have sound, no movie still

I downloaded and installed the patch, as I didn't have the intro movie before...now I have the sound to it, but no graphic/video. What to do now? My system has all the requirements (minimum) needed to run the game "correctly" as it says in the ReadMe file that came with it. I'm running it on a PC, by the way.

    Question

The patch worked for my already saved game. However, when I started a new game, I got the infamous peg-leg Lara. Also, she walked through a wall (in front of the City Guide guy), straight over past Janice, across the street and over to the money. I guess she was short of cash or something *shrugs*. In addition, I had a disappearing city... like the Langoliers .... I walked her right up to it and into the sky, and continued on until all was black except her. Very very weird.

However, the patch only helped the saved game I had already started. So, I just went back to the saved game and played.

    Default Quicktime to Windows Media

    is1 -

In order to change your default player from quicktime to windows media, go to your AOD folder and right click on one of the mpg files. Click properties. There should be a section that says: Opens With. Click "Change" and when your options come up, choose Windows Media Player. Make sure that the "Always use this program to open this file type" box is checked and you should be good to go!

The game keeps crashing when i'm fighting the monster that looks like a baboon with spikes on it's back in the enclosed room with the railing after he jumps down from the vents the second time. Game error exception handle. does anyone know how to fix this?

That is the exact same problem I am having today in the Maximum containment area. I saved as soon as the Proto Nephilim landed. Now when I reload the game the Proto often just stands there and I can pick up the clips and med Kit and then get close and shoot it. I got it to die once, but then it got back up and the game crashed with that error message, which I also get sometimes if I jump back into the walkways.

After the above, I finally gave up and restarted the computer, and because I had insufficient ammo, I reverted to my last save in the Bio Research Center. This time I conserved ammo and replayed the two Kurtis levels with no further problems.

I'm not suggesting going back to a previous level here, just to restart the computer and see if that helps—maybe the PC has "garbage collecting" problems like my Commodore 64.

    1. I have changed sound acceleration level to no acceleration.
    2. EAX disabled in game settings
    3. After sound disabled in game settings

In Strahovs Fortress level after cutscene my game is everytime crash. Cutscene is "Lara shutdown security" after reporters burn.

    GAME_ERROR_STRUCTURED_EXCEPTION_HANDLE

    ....sooooo.....

I have the same problem. and what's the solution? I've tried Eidos save games, but they give me

    a) less ammo, weapons etc than I had before
    b) same prob if I start at Strahov fortress, or I miss the entire Biosphere level (as the savegame is at the end of the level)

    grrrrr....

c'mon techies! if you're worth anything, you can solve this one!!!

    Default The Strahov Fortress GAME_ERROR_STRUCTURED_EXCEPTION_HANDLE

I had this same error after the cut scene where Eckhardt kills the Reporter.

The only way that I found to get past the error was to save the game just before the cut scene, Disable Audio in the Settings, restart the game, reload the save game and play through the cut scene with no sound. Then, if the failure did not occur after the cut scene, save the game again (in another slot, of course), Enable Audio in the Settings again, restart the game again, reload the second save game and continue on.

I had to do the same thing after the second cut scene where Lara cuts off the power.

From the point of the first cut scene to the end of The Strahov Fortress level, any save game that I saved and later loaded might have the same failure, but usually not twice in a row, so I was able to get to the end of the level. There were no problems like this in the next levels and there had been no problems at all in the previous levels.

This was on a Windows XP Pentium 4 2.0 GHz computer with nVIDIA GeForce 2 MX 400 graphics card (driver 44.03) and Sound Blaster Live! audio card. I had not upgraded the Sound Blaster Live! driver, because there had been no problems in any previous level. I updated the Sound Blaster Live! driver but it made no difference. I still had the same failures and the only solution I found was as described above.

    Talking Halleluiah momma!

    Yeeeeeeeeee-ha!

    Oh yes yes yes!!

Thankyou thankyou thankyou to Dino, the main man (assumption!), who successfully solved my "game handle exception error" round objects.....

so, if you're stuck like I was (azman note!!!), just disable sound, run thorugh the FMV sequence, save game and restore sound.

    Ha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

    Unhappy Oy...Stupid error message...

    Help!

I e-mailed Support about this, but that before I discovered the forum...Anyway, they haven't e-mailed back yet, so I'm getting a little impatient. When I try to start AOD up, I get the "SYS_ERROR_D3D_CREATE_DEVICE" error. I checked my settings and "Enabled" under the graphics tab was checked off. I'm getting frustrated here!

I've already updated my sound and graphics cards to the latest drivers. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled AOD as well as the DirectX thingers too. But still, the same error message comes up.

If you need my system info, please post and tell me which parts, as I don't want to clog up the board with my whole report (especially if it doesn't make any difference).

    So....help? Please?

    UPDATE:

Never mind, Eidos e-mailed me back about this. It appears that my drivers were either outdated or do not support DirectX.

    Default Error uninstall

    Hi

I can't uninstall the game.I tried both start/all programs and the control panel but i get a message saying that my pc has an older version of the one that's required. Also tells me to get the newer version of ISScript.msi.

I performed a search and found version 8 of it but the only change was that the Install Shield starts from the add/remove programs, asks if i want to completely remove AOD and then i get the error again.

Is there a solution to this other than manually deleting the Eidos folder from programs?

    I run XP PRO

    Thanks.
