Unhappy my kitty

hey. my cat, Max, has been feeling sick for the past couple of days. he hasnt eaten at all and hasnt gone to the bathroom. he's also been acting very strange and has gone in weird places where he normally doesnt go, ex. today he decided to sit in the sink.

well just a few mins ago i got in from the doctors. they said he has something wrong w/ his bladder so he needs some surgery. the doc said that if we had waited longer, he would've died. when he said that i just lost it and started to cry we won't get to see him for a few days so i hope everything turns out okay.

please pray for my kitty im really worried about him and so is my mom. he's getting old and i hope that he doesn't get any more problems with him after this.

Cool

We have a cat that went through what sounds to be similar thing TombRaiderChik. The vets had to use a catheter to help him urinate. Although they said it was due to crystals in the urine and he had a course of tablets and appears to be no worse for the ordeal a few weeks later, he's back to his normal routine, although if we'd left it too long it may have been bad news.
The vet also said that it'd be good to chase him around the house as this would help hime urinate more often.

Hey, i've mention urine quite a few times here, I hope no one thinks i'm taking the.... perhaps not

i will pray for your kitty Max, positive thinking never hurts and it often helps. Staticon is right about making the kitty move around,
letting a animal [or a person] become sedintary is not good for them.

Odd behaviorial changes due to urinary tract/bladder infections occur in humans, as well.

I hope your kitty gets better.

Be prepared for when he comes home after that type of surgey.
He may be a little bit urinarily loose for a couple days if you know what i mean.
Your Doc will probably tell you to adjust him to a low ash diet.
Triumph cat food is good for this. And no fish flavors.
Your standard grocery store varieties are no good for a cat
with urinary problems.
Sounds like you caught it in time.
Your Doc may also have you put him on Hill's Science Diet prescription food
for a while.
Good luck and give him Shep and Yuri's regards.

Great glad to here the good news. I hate it when an animal gets sick for one reason or another. I found a thread by Racinlady you might like or maybe have read already but here it is.
