Forum banner contest - cool prizes up for grabs! [winners announced on page 9!]

It's competition time again!

It's been a while since we held a comp here in ECC, so I figured it's about time to spice things up again

Our forum banner for the Eidos Forums vBulletin 3 Style is a bit dated and we would like to update it.

Instead of the forum staff or Square Enix' web team doing this like usual, we thought it would be a nice idea to give regular forum members a chance of having their spot in the limelight and possibly choose one of the fan submissions as our new banner for this forum skin.

This is the current banner we're looking to update:

Instructions:

- Maximum number of entries per person: 5

- Banner dimensions must be exactly 950 pixels wide and 200 pixels high.

- Include at least 2 characters from different AAA Eidos / Square Enix titles (Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, etc) in your entry. You may include more than 2 if you want to.

- The use of the Square Enix logo is recommended.

- Upload only high quality images, preferably 24 bit PNGs. No GIFs or low compression JPGs, please.

- You have exactly one month to enter; the comp ends on February 8th, 2013!


THE PRIZES!

For this competition I managed to collect a wide range of various Square Enix games and downloads for 3 (THREE) winners to freely choose from. First place winner may choose as first 1 (ONE) item from the entire list of available prizes and second place winner may choose as second 1 (ONE) item from the entire list. Third place winner may choose from any left-over items that are marked with a single star (*).

First and second place winners will be determined by a panel of official judges. Third place winner will be randomly draw using random.org out of ALL entries, to encourage participation by those who may not be artistically inclined. Depending on the amount of entries received, we may do a pre-selection voting round involving regular forum members.

The usual obligatory jury FYI: The official jury will consist of Forum staff members and/or Square Enix employees. The (forum) names of the jury members and their votes will be publicly available once the winners have been announced.

How to enter:

- Step 1: Post your banner inside this competition thread using forum [ IMG ] tags.

- Step 2: Send the source file (.psd or other) to forumcompetition@gmail.com and include your forum nickname in the email.

(because we may need to make final adjustments before using it on the forum)

Detailed Rules and Legal Stuff

• Maximum 5 entries per person.
• The deadline for submitting entries is February 8th, 2013 at 12:00 PM CET / 03:00 AM PST.
• We reserve the right to extend the deadline or cancel the competition at any time without warning or reason.
• The new forum banner may be chosen independently on the outcome of this competition. Securing first place in this competition does not automatically mean that the winning banner will be used in the forum skin. It is entirely up to the forum leaders to use (or not use) the submissions as they see fit.
• Keep your entry clean, in good taste and in accordance with our FORUM TOU.
• Any entry that the forum staff deems inappropriate or not complying with the rules will not qualify and may be removed from this thread.
• Your entry may not break any laws.
• In the event of a tie, the person who posted first wins.
• Contestants can only win 1 prize; not a combination of for example 1st prize and 3rd prize.
• Prizes are for personal use only; they are not intended to be sold, auctioned, re-used for promotional purposes, or otherwise re-distributed. You may, however, gift it to a friend or relative in private.
• In cases of suspected fraud, winners are responsible for proving ownership of their entry in order to claim their prize.
• Winners will be notified via PM or email. Winners must respond within 2 weeks of being notified or else their prize may go to another contestant.
• Judges decisions are final.

Using the official models in Blender is fine. You can even use your own fan art and your entry will still be valid. But keep in mind that the less "official" it looks, the chances of the banner winning and/or being used on the forum are probably going to be less.

The beauty of random draw is that it is just that - completely random. It does not factor in quality whatsoever

Question: Presuming whoever wins first place chooses either of the Hitman games, would the second or random draw winner be allowed to choose the other?

Second winner may freely choose any of the items not chosen by first winner. Random draw winner may choose any of the items that have 1 single star behind them, provided they were not taken by first or second winner.

What is the point of the 2 stars and 3 stars then? Can a random draw winner pick either or just single star? I assumed second place can only pick 2 stars or less. No?
