Move to PC yo.. PC always the next-gen :P.. Believe it or not.. PS4 spec can't match a high-end PC and it's architecture it's actually a PC..

PC is an open platform.. a console is a simplified PC with DRM :P.. But the bright side is you get to play exclusive games on your console where PC doesn't have.

From this day forth whenever a game does hair effects, we can always say, LARA DID IT FIRST!

    Love the new hair!

This feature can be turned on and off, I think. But if you really have such low specs it'd probably a bad idea to turn it on. I guess the game would becom borderline unplayable in terms of framerate drops.

Anybody got any advice? I have a radeon HD 5850, which is just slightly below the recommended specs. Nixxe also mentioned that to max everything you would need more than the recommended specs anyway. I do have 8GB Ram and an I5 4.4 too, so I guess the graphics card would be the only thing bottlenecking me. Do you recommend an upgrade like a 7950? Really considering it.

On a hunch, I just checked Tomb Raider's system requirements here: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Tom...med-52875.html

Looks like the reco'd card is a 4870 which is considerably slower than your 5850 (I checked some random benchmarks). I'm not too familiar with AMD these days since I haven't owned once since they were ATI, but, perhaps that helps?

oh, well according to dxdiag I don't have 1GB VRAM, but lower. Also if other games such as sleeping dogs, lag a lot when I have it on ultra settings with hi res textures, then I can't see tomb raider being any different. I guess 5850 is a pretty old card now, but I dunno. I'm not confident that it's powerful enough for the top settings.

And Havok works same on every card because it's not special feature it's in the game you know?

Since CD did PC version of Tomb Raider with Nixxes and AMD this is AMD tittle and it is optimized for AMD cards. Alice was Nvidia tittle.

And i guess that Alice hair doesn't have anything to do with Physx since it was same on all platforms.

TressFX will work on EVERY DX11 capable card (AMD or Nvidia) BUT it will effect performance and it is not recommended for low-end graphic cards!
I have a NVIDIA graphics card with 2 GB of VRAM
who uses physX with DX11 the only bad thing is that is medium card but I still hope that the performance will be as great cause when I played Dmc it looked way nice on high settings! (:

    Hello people.

    I have this:
    Quadro 2000D
    Pixel Shader version = 5.0
    Vertex Shader version = 5.0
Dedicated Video RAM = 1.0 GB

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
    RAM 8.2 GB
Would I be able to run this feature? I'm just curious.

    Thanks.

As gorgeous as this looks in still screenshots, I'd really like a video showing how it moves in game. If it doesn't move believably (i.e. flows like Lara's hair is underwater or spazzes out in the slightest breeze) it could be worthwhile to leave it disabled even if you're capable of running it.

There are quite a few games were I've set PhysX to Low or Off even though I was capable of setting it to High simply because it was implemented poorly in an unbelievable way or was distracting, like in Borderlands 2 where setting PhysX to High turned every exploding chemical barrel into a container of colorful pudding and left thousands of particles littering every area after a fight, or in Hawken where setting PhysX to High in the ini file left bizarre vortexes of embers swirling around the wreckage of mechs.
