PC is an open platform.. a console is a simplified PC with DRM :P.. But the bright side is you get to play exclusive games on your console where PC doesn't have.
merged the tressfx thread with this one since both threads were discussing the same, please continue
wait... if i play this on pc and only have a little higher than the minimum requirements, will her hair still look like this??
From this day forth whenever a game does hair effects, we can always say, LARA DID IT FIRST!
Love the new hair!
Anybody got any advice? I have a radeon HD 5850, which is just slightly below the recommended specs. Nixxe also mentioned that to max everything you would need more than the recommended specs anyway. I do have 8GB Ram and an I5 4.4 too, so I guess the graphics card would be the only thing bottlenecking me. Do you recommend an upgrade like a 7950? Really considering it.
Looks like the reco'd card is a 4870 which is considerably slower than your 5850 (I checked some random benchmarks). I'm not too familiar with AMD these days since I haven't owned once since they were ATI, but, perhaps that helps?
This is SO unfair.
I want this kind of hair for the PS3 and XBOX360.
I hope in future games..
So unfair. ._.
PC is already entering next-generation!!!
I DON'T EVEN CARE THAT I DON'T PLAY THE PC VERSION.
That is amazing. You oh m God.
That's Goddamn Turning Point. Who could believe. OH MG GOD. The hair people wanted.
The hair people wanted.
I want to cry for yall.
I have this:
Would I be able to run this feature? I'm just curious.Quadro 2000D
Pixel Shader version = 5.0
Vertex Shader version = 5.0
Dedicated Video RAM = 1.0 GB
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM 8.2 GB
I think the face in the thread title should be turned from a frown to happy. Oh my God.
As gorgeous as this looks in still screenshots, I'd really like a video showing how it moves in game. If it doesn't move believably (i.e. flows like Lara's hair is underwater or spazzes out in the slightest breeze) it could be worthwhile to leave it disabled even if you're capable of running it.
There are quite a few games were I've set PhysX to Low or Off even though I was capable of setting it to High simply because it was implemented poorly in an unbelievable way or was distracting, like in Borderlands 2 where setting PhysX to High turned every exploding chemical barrel into a container of colorful pudding and left thousands of particles littering every area after a fight, or in Hawken where setting PhysX to High in the ini file left bizarre vortexes of embers swirling around the wreckage of mechs.
