Penitentiary Mansion - Apprehend Harley Quinn

Hi guys, Im having trouble on Arkham Asylum. Im on the mission where I have to save 2 guards from Harley Quinn, the mission name is the title above. The problem is that the sequencer for the PC has proved nothing but frustrating since I first used it.

I have searched online and found a few answers like "hold left click til the sequencer turns green, then hold A or B" but ive tried everything, and nothing seems to work. I eventually just button mash and hope for the best. Thats worked til now, as Im timed.

I (eventually) managed to break the code on the panel near window and Harley Quinn; im then greeted with a 2 minute timer. I have literally 5 seconds to break the next code on the panel surrounded by water, or else I die from electic shock. Theres no way I can break the code in 5 seconds. Any help on this sequencer rubbish would be greatly appreciated!

P.S I know its only 4 buttons and yes its easy for most but Ive tried every possible combination/idea and nothing seems 100%.
