:) There Will Be Mythos In The Game

So I'm pretty certain it's frowned upon to post youtube links of leaked gameplay, but it's from the most recent E3 demo and Has a very interesting cutscene that gives a HUGE hint about what's on the island as far as mythology goes I'll put a spoiler tag around it so you know. I'm not going to post the youtube link, just out of respect to CD.
The game seems to focus on

Himiko, who ruled her own people and those of about 30 other chiefdoms through magic, knows as Yamatai

I'm SO glad that they aren't sticking to just shoot 'em up type gameplay and *Might* (hopefully) have some

mythological monsters/magical aspects like the old Tomb Raider games

also Mr. Stewart lied... I heard an "F bomb" in this vid :O lol it shocked me for a second but it fits the context as he stated. can't wait for the game... I need to stop looking up info now haha

i personally think there will be some mythological moments in the game. even when they focus on realism, they cant skip it out either when all the others had it.
but well, we could be wrong. they can talk about it but nothing happens.

I think this is the mystery ;p and I'm pretty certain that after seeing this, it confirms that this game will have what I listed in the spoiler tags... and it makes me very pleased because I was afraid it wouldn't. lol

Can you post a link to the E3 demo you're referring to? It's a bit hard to keep track of the TR demo since different sources have slight differences in their release.

i know what you mean there. it looks more like a ritual thing for the people on this island. maybe towards the end of the game, we might come across some mysteries that is mystical related or the people are just insane and created their own god.
it surely is open at this stage what kind of mystery we will solve on this island. i find it good that they dont spoil anything about it.
all we can do is speculate about it what is going on on this island.

Link has been PM'ed to y'all and gitb90 she's not the one who drops the F bomb, it's her captor. haha still shocking nonetheless, I really wasn't expecting that in a Tomb Raider game, but it fits... I love the new mature direction! Metalrocks, I too am glad they haven't spoiled the entire mystery of the island. At this point I'm gonna stop looking videos up so I don't spoil it myself. lol but it's good to know there's more that is possibly going on here than just some pirates living on an island

As for your point, yeah I can clearly see where you're coming from with the Mythology, infact i'm getting interested now. I've found so much leaked gameplay this week, they need to calm down now haha..

I KNOWWWW I was sitting there enticed in it then heard it and my face literally went lol, I really like the adult-ness to this game :P I guess they figured that if fans have followed since 96 (such as myself) we have grown up, and so should the series... I'm almost 20 now. lol so I'm cool with it. and I haven't seen too too much leaked gameplay. I'm trying to not tempt myself lol

I've seen gameplay from the second level and other things, i've really spoiled it for myself :') It looks great so far and since they have 9 months left to fix it up even more, it's gonna be fab. PLUS I want to see what the boss levels are like :P (If there are any)

Ughhhh I can't remember which interview it was (as I've read dozens from E3) but I remember them asking Karl if there would be any boss battles in the game and he pretty much says there will be. It might have been one of the gamestop videos I'm not sure >.<

I hope the boss levels aren't like in final fantasy, they annoy me so much and i spend hours on them, and it really bothers me. :')

I agree, haha those are a little fantastical for my taste Although if the Kraken in Underworld were a traditional boss fight, that could've been fun! And sorry guys, I guess the uploader of the video made it private. I swear I'm not crazy and/or making up anything ahaha i'll work on finding another one if anyone is interested. All in all though, this game is shaping up to be something spectacular. and awesome (awesometacular?) The footage we've all seen is still alpha footage. and it looks and plays that amazing. just imagine how beta will look? WAHOO! SO keeping relevant with this thread, do you folks WANT oogie boogies or would you prefer enemies grounded in realism?

First we see normal, human enemies... Then we start seeing these weird creatures, like you're in the forest, and you see one, but he quickly hides behind trees and stuff, and doesn't attack you. Later on, we see some Japanese weirdness, Grudge-like creatures, who are fast and furious (no pun intended) I don't know, but I want to see something supernatural, something out of the ordinary

i hope the boss fights are not shooting tones of bullets in to it, or pushing stuff around to create a trap to kill it. and i hope there wont be many of them. rather have 1 or maybe 2.

i can handle some supernatural stuff but not particularly enemies. rather have realistic enemies then fighting off some weird creatures. if it has a mythological twist in it that would be nice.

Now, that's an idea! Although I know I would get a heart-attack when one of those creatures would jump out, doesn't matter! We need adrenalin caused by supernatural like in every TR game.
